ok i spent some time trying to figure out the prices for my weps... i searched deff stores and stuff and i think i got it this time... i belive this formula is fair enough for a non master wepS

max dmg x 1000 / spd

example 120 dmg 2.5 spd fwg

120 x 1000 / 2.5 = 4800

how does that sound?? is it a bit more fait then my old one?? also i use this formula only for melee and fire arms weps only throwing weps and heavy partical beams/launcehrs sct dont apply

Formulas do not work. Period. There is no point in trying to come up with one, because they don't work.

First off, you typed 1000 instead of 100.

Second, the values are completely out of whack and no sane, competent weaponsmith would sell at what this formula gives.

T21 rifle 130-357 7.2 4.9k

Laser rifle 44-406 5.7 7.1k

Republic blaster 68-204 2.6 7.8k

Scout blaster 80-156 1.8 8.6k

roffles.

pricing formulas will *never* work.

Easiest way to do it? Let *OTHERS* do the work, and just base your prices off of other players.

/agree

The best way to price weapons is to look around and see how other MWS are pricing their weapons, and then price yours accordingly.

If you must have a formula just use 50cpu rate as the base. This would be for a 10 point smith that has relatively good resources. Basing it off the damage of the weapon will probably never work since you will be loosing money on alot of weapons and overcharging on others.

If your a non master using inferior resources then there is no formula that will work, since the weapons have very little value. For me as a 12 point smith, who stocks every weapon in the game with the best resources ever to spawn on our server I charge around 75cpu for most weapons, but more on the gas guzzler's like T21's and Jawa Ion Rifles.

As has been posted many times. People are not just paying for the weapon you are selling. Honestly price is one of the last things people even check on a weapon. They want availability, quality and easy access to your vendors. Remember those rules of business and you will do well. Try to lowball all the smiths on your server and they will just laugh as you burn out in a month or run out of your good resources by underpricing.

Good luck on your pricing scheme, hope you figure one out that works.

I'm a 12 pt smith and I seem to be doing ok with my formula that I've been using since launch. Take total number of rescources for weapon Laser carbine = 308 x 4 cpu for resrouces , then x 10 for profit figure = 12320 , then I round it down to 12k for a laser carbine. Some I'll round up some down. I'd never pay anymore than 5 cpu for a resrouce. If I really need something then I'll mine it myself between my 4 accounts I can get what I need. If the resrouce or something comparible isn't around I just don't make that type of weapon until I'll get a resupply. I haven't burnt out yet and my prices are pretty fair.

The only problem I run into are with like rocket launchers and t21 which use a ton of resrouces , the x10 multiple is way too high making them about 75k for a rocket launcher. So what I do is deduct the proton grenades from the forumla and add 1 set in making them 44k each.

As for non master smith yeah I agree there's no formula that's really going to help ya. Best bet is just toss it on the bazaar and hope ya break even.

For most of the firearms that use ABPH I count it as 1K for each ABPH they require. Add 500 for every adv scope, and adv stock, then add 5K for every AP level.

eg

D18 = 1 ABPH(1000)+ 1 Adv scope(500) = 1500

DX2 = 4 ABPH(4000) + 1 Adv scope(500) + AP1(5000) = 9500

Laser carbine = 3 ABPH(3000) + 1 Adv scope(500) + AP2(10000) = 13500

T21= 10 ABPH(10000) + 1 Adv scope(500) + Avd Stock(500) + AP3(15000)= 26000

Of course, if you have enough resources, especially the rare Ryll, Green Diamond, Rainbow, Atlantium Carbonate Ore, Crism Siliclastic Ore, etc. This was my original plan, but i settled on comparing around and chose the average between the high and low.

Heavy weapons, special heavy weapons, and melee, you'll have to just maintain a price list.

The technical term for this is "systems balancing", prior to release. After release, it's still balancing, but changes can be considered nerfs or enhancements.
Since you don't have it yet, if you cry nerf, I'll make sure your name is on the list to spew chicken feathers as your characters talk.

§1 hehe since when we got ability to add scopes to T21s?

§2 Adv Scopes are used in 8 of 10 as custom request and not on weapons for most of public

add instead +10 (to +13) 1Ham scopes or +20 (to +25) 9 ham scopes.

§3 as many said before, this are a free market everyone charge what they think its fair.

heh btw whit your formula you will be selling Rocket launcers for umm 20k I bet that all commandos and merchants would be doing buyout on them as soon you stock. be it only 10 or 100

My server has weaponsmiths who post a regualr listing of all their weapons and prices. I print them out and use them as a guide line.

I have a weaponsmith next door who is undercutting me on pirces by as much as 40%, but he is already starting to complain about lack of resources. I just keep selling my weapons, secure in my resource inventory.

I am a 12-poit smithie, and I charge more for the weapons that reflect the better stats.
