Thread: new to WS and missing units to build
HI guys
finally got novice WS. Wnt to make a DLT20 rifle. Now it asks for a blaster rifle barrel, only thing, i don't have one in my build list. I have tried adding a weapon upgrade as a barrel but it does not work (obviously).
What am i doing wrong. Are we not supposed to be able to make all our own components, am i just missing it? I have checked under ranged weapons components and it's just not here.
2nd thing : vibro units. I have made one but how the hell do i slap it onto a melee weapon (sword) to make a vibro sword.
The Blaster Rifle Barrel is in Firearms 1, strange but true.
The vibro unit is only used in lances, vibro knucklers, vibro lances, vibroblades, vibroaxes, and long vibro axes (coulda missed some) Which all have their own schematic.
You can't pick up another schematic (sword, in your case) and add a vibro unit to it to create a vibro sword, the crafting system doesn't work like that. (yet, anyway). Swords accept Sword cores, Adv. Sword cores, and (maybe) rancor teeth (though the adv. cores are actually marginallybetter than the teeth, so far as I know)
OMG.. then why the hell give me a new gun if i can't make ne of the parts. HOW STUPID is that. I have been sweating my ass off to get here so i could make new guns, and guess wot. I'm still stuck with the crap that i had since day one (refuse to buy some1 elses gun seeing im training to be a WS).
Man, thats arsed. So wot ur really saying is, thank ur for workng ur ass off to 21k xp, here's a couple of new things, but wait, u can't build **edit** as of yet.
I am really angry now (as u can prob guess) that after all this hard work, nothing really to show for it.
Thank u for ur help btw, not shouting at you, just annoyed.
well, your choices are D18's and normalSwords.
I'd suggest grinding out on Weapon Upgrade kits, and sell them on the bazaar (or find a smuggler powering through slicing, and mass produce swords (no cores)and WUKs for a price. if he's near by, you should get some WCXP from him using your WUKs.
And if you think that first 21k was painful, just wait till you try the rest of the tree. Trust me, mastering artisan is a cake walk compared to even just a quarter of WS ![]()
Architect seems to be the fastest road to master, as much as I can tell.
thanks for the nfo ![]()
i can see wot u mean by the xp range. I am just so dis-heartened with the lack of 'new toys'.
Thank u on the splicin nfo. will hook up with some1 i know.
Maybe u can tell (u sound like an artisian). How the hell do u find all the resources u need. I find it bizaar all the new stuff u need. Do u have harvestors going all the time?
I have recently started sellin stuff, can i ask a price guide (there were none on the bizaar so don't know)
- bird cage
- Weapons/clothing/armour repair kit
- weapons upgrade kit

Ok, what I did, I just did grinding the whole way through the tree. Firearms 1, then up Techniques. then the rest of firearms, then melee, then munitions.
At eng 3/4 you can make personal harvesters. You'll have it waaaay easier than I did, because you can now experiment personal harvesters up to 4 extract rate instead of 2.
Take a break from WS, and grind up Domestic Arts in the artisan tree. Then make some decent harvesters, 2 wind (8-9 extract rate), 8 mineral (3-4 extract rate) Look for the highest concentration of steel (any steel)you can, preferably higherthan 80%. Then find a wind energy spot higher than 40% (that's harder, but 60% is possible)
For money, go to moenia, and find an ARTISAN mission terminal, and hit refresh on the crafting missions till you find one for 2k credits or more. Then find another one. That'll head you towards Deeja Peak. Repeat the process there once you complete the missions. Artisan missions from Deeja peak to moenia pay the same sorta amount. once you have that. drop the wind generators for 24 hours (takes 1500 creds to keep them running that long), you should get about 12k energy from those next day. Keep them in place, keep feeding them money.
Now, take 7 of the mineral harvesters, and drop them on the steel... those need 750 credits, and 600 units of power to run 24 hours.
The 8th harv is discretionary, you need resources to be a good Smith. Read this thread: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=weaponsmith&message.id=4981understand it. And use that extra harvester to collect rare and needed resources as they appear.
You'll get bored fast. But the harvesters on a 80%+ steel spot will net you 35k of steel each day. Roughly. Sell some of that on the bazaar each day, it'll slow your grind, but keep you in the money, and lt you slack off on the missions (go hunting or something). stacks of 1000 steel, sell for 3000cr on the bazaar (instant sale, mind, not auction)
Good Luck!
Survey missions are good for money. Find an artisan terminal, then find a spot just over 1024m away that has 70-80+ metal. Take two survey missions, go out there on mount, survey, go back and get more. If you do it in Theed, you can sometimes get survey missions between the artisan terminals on opposite ends of the city and never have to go out of town. Survey missions will be even faster when vehicles are in "early next week".
I find grinding metal staffs works fairly well
going up a rank in WS takes a long time, and you don't really get many "new toys" for each upgrade... ![]()
i like my surway method more. get any comat skill upto 4(its bugged) in marksman tree i heard it works for brawler too. you will get 600-1800 mission. find 2 cities with artison terminal close to the shuttle. surway inert chemicals gas metal ect. write down all that are above 70% in both cities. then just keep getting serway missions for what you found in the other city... rince and repeat. shuttle costs are negligible. i made 6k in 10 minutes like that. and still had 6-8 minutes of safe grinding time per trip
