I have been grinding metal staffs, they only take 42 metal, and give you 88 xp if you practice. I've gotten a couple Heavy Mineral Harvs up on a high concentration of metal so I can do this effectively. I plan on going up melee weapons first and have already gotten the first melee weaponcrafting skill (so im 1/0/0/0). I was just wondering which item was best for grinding to the top.

Hehe, just read the sticky topic, but it seems my way of grinding is better. I read that you can "almost get 2 xp per unit" and I get a little over 2. So for everyone to know, 42 metal for 88xp (if you practice), go for the metal staffs.

88xp will take forever to reach 35k xp requirement for the first box...heheh

Actually if your willing to grind for a few hours you can get the first box in a day, if you have enough resources. It helps a lot if you have a crafting macro too.

Bah, I did the last 2 boxes in the Crafting Techniques column in a little under 4 hours grinding projectile pistol barrels at ~90 exp each. 1st tier boxes take little over an hour.

A 6 tool crafting macro is a beautiful thing

Blaster rifle barrels make 120xp per item. Use about 50 metal and 5 gems per unit though. So stock up before you grind.

after 0 0 4 4, laser riffle, laser carbine, LLC, HPBC become a weapond of choise. 200-500 xp each and can be sold on the bazar for 3k ,last 2 sell like crazy. first 2 only if they turn out good. great way to fund your self
