There is a large market for non-master weaponsmith items, the largest market in the game actually...the bazaar! If you are looking to make some quick money to fund the seemingly endless grind that is ws, simply start by getting the crafting techniques tree down and then start making good quality firearms(not top quality, but the best you can make at the level you are at. ie, some decent scout blasters, better than average dh17s and other lower level weapons) and sell them on the bazaar for a fair price. It might not be what you hoped to get for these items, but it is cash flow. If you give your weapons a creative name or a simple trademark, this will also be an effective way of getting your name out to the community that you will be serving once you reach master. There are new people starting the game all the time that will be looking first and foremost on the bazaar for their weapons as they level through the basic melee/firearm professions. The bazaar is also a useful tool once you reach master weaponsmith, for all those weapons you dont get great successes on, or weapons that are out of date and no longer interest your high-level "I want the best" buyers. This stuff will go like hotcakes on the bazaar, giving you cash and some unexpecting noob a better-than-average weapon that they wont find very often in the mass of looted p-o-s weapons that are normally found on the bazaar. If they like your **edit**, they will seek you out when they need better and newer weapons. GL!

The bazaar is a good place for non master weapons.

I am a 2/4/1/4 Weaponsmith.

I am always on the lookout for top quality resources. A few weapons I have made rival some master crafted items just because of the resources I was able to obtain.

95% on the time this is not the case though.

What I do is spend time browsing the bazaar and looking at the average prices of the weapon(s) I am trying to sell.

A lot of people are selling absolute crap for 3k.

If your weapon is made with decent materials then you can own the bazaar for a while

I would not sell your absolute best on the bazaar though or you will loose out.

Doing this a lot of people that don't have a lot of cash to spend are getting fairly decent weapons at a fraction of the cost of master crafted items.

I play hell tyring to keep up with the demand for these decent weapons.(not the be all end all damage producing weapons).

I have done so well that soon I will be just selling on a private vender soon.

I've temporarily given up grinding. Business is so good as an "expert weaponsmith" I don't have time for it.

I recommend making C12 grenades. They're one of the few weapons that a large portion of players want (any non-commando who wants grenades) but don't require master weaponsmith to create. And they're expendable items, so people who like them will be back at your shop in a hurry to buy more.

Since I was also a Master Architect, income was not an issue so I did the grind for the most part. I did make a few items for fun. The grenades always sold well. Even pathetic littleweapons have their place......many upcoming smugglers need them to slice for experience.

I have made close to 1 million credits selling weapons (mostly bowcasters) and I am only 0/2/0/4. in some cases I had a master make the parts and i assembled them. In other cases, I didnt make anything, i was just the marketing guy. Ive built up quite a reputation as a bowcaster maker and I am still unable to make the gun by myself (with adv parts anyway)

I gave away a lot of average guns and sell my grinders for 3000 credits on the bazaar. once i had a stock of good guns in, a lot of the guys i gave the free guns to bought my expensive ones.

Tho ive ground my share of rifle barrels, I have also done a lot of experimenting on different things that i end up sellling or giving away so that when i do hit master I'm not a noob who just made 420,000 rifle barrels and still doesnt know what he is doing.
