After months of screwing around, I finally hit master. Ive made two runs already of ALL weapons.

Heres where I need a little advice...

I have two vendors that sell UNsliced weapons ( ranged/melee ) and I have another vendor that sells spices and some of MY sliced weapons.

As a buyer or as a weaponsmith, do you think Im asking for trouble?

Thanks in advance =)

I would make it really clear that the weapons on the smuggler vendor are pre-sliced...people tend to get pissed when they buy something and assume its unsliced, only to goto a smuggler and find out it has already been sliced and not what they thought they paid for. Sure this isnt your fault, they should have inquired about it, but im sure they dont see it this way and might not return to your shop...So just a good idea to have it made really clear to them that the weapons on this vendor are pre-sliced.

That was exactly my concern, so I made armor segments that state clearly sliced vendor or straight weapons in front of the vendor. I also named a few items in each vendor "NOTHING is sliced on this vendor"...

So far no complaints, I just remember a few months back people getting bad reputations doing business this way.

I believe the market for sliced weapon is very high. On wanderhome, I have 3 sliced vendors in my shop. I am no where close to a weaponsmith nor a slicer. I deal with master weaponsmiths in large bulk, take it to a master slicers and sell them.

I deal with approx 8 - 10 different master ws at the same time. With that, I could not keep up with the demand. The advertising perks is that a lot of people are fustrated with the fact they spend 100k and up on a pistol. Hoping it will slice out damage. The rate for slice damage is rare, but the case for 30% - 35% damage slicing is even more rare.

Thus, the business.

I sell both sliced and unsliced weapons. My slice vendor is labeled "Sliced weapons by Zhose". I have yet to have a problem, the main thing is to make sure you are clearly labeling the vendor to the point that even a total idiot could tell that that vendor sells sliced weapons. Because it will be the total idiot that comes to the forums mouting off about how you are selling sliced weapons and he didn't know it was sliced...blah b.al blah...suddenly you have a bad rep even though you did nothing wrong.

IMHO, not worth the hassle. I did it for a while, but no longer.

Sure, you can markup weapons with the proper slice quite a bit, but weapons with the "wrong" slice you'll have to discount to move them.

I had a very frustrating situation pop-up concerning this very issue. I had three vendors -- melee weapons, ranged weapons and one called "Slices and Spices" which I thought would be very obvious. Well, apparently I was overestimating the abilities of my fellow players because people invariably contacted me saying they didn't know a particular weapon was sliced or the other way around despite the fact that the vendor was clearly named! I took this one step further and actually started titling my schematics "Sliced Laser Rifle by Maya" so there would be NO CONFUSION about what was sliced and what wasn't...This seemed to finally end those idiotic gmails!

I don't sell sliced weapons. I thought about it, but what do you do with weapons that get a bad slice? No one will want to buy them...you couldn't even sell them for less than you could an unsliced weapon.

This is definitely a problem. I think my main issue with sliced weapons is the amount of time it takes to slice them all. Making custom weapons, scouring the galaxy for resources and dealing with tell hell is bad enough. Throw slicing into the mix and there's just too much to deal with. Calgon!

Some people could be a total idiot I agree.

My vendor is named as "Pick and Choose Slicing"

The weapon descriptions as Sliced Speed w/o powerup or Sliced damage w/o powerup

I advertise through shout and forum with "SLICED WEAPON"

and yet, they still message me and ask "Are the weapon sliced?" after all that...DUH!
