I have a few resource deeds, and I'm wondering what is the best thing to convert them into as a Master WS... I'm mostly interested in ranged weapons.

It's going to vary by server. What I did was make a list of the resources that I needed based on the schemes, from there I went to swgcraft.com and used the resource filter to find the names of the top 10 resources for each class on my list. Take that list and see what is available on vendors on your server (for example I was able to get the top 3 in every resource that I needed with the exception of a couple of Steel types). Whatever you aren't able to find, use the resource deeds for.

Make sure to take resources caps into account.
