Ok, so im a Master DE already on my alt and im thinking I want to go WS as well, here was my question.

Is it viable (even doable/profitable at all) to only make custom orders, and not keep a shop stocked. Im not looking for uber money, if I want that, ill use my doc char and buff myself to make millions on dant. Im just looking for something that is A. fun (i consider DE fun) B., will keep me basically afloat e.g. profit aint that big a concern, just keeping my expenses paid. If I do custom orders and on the spot stuff only, will it be at all possible to cover my expenses/turn a little profit.

another question, how reliant is WS on factory stuff? DE only requires a few things (2 or 3) in factory crates. How factory intensive is WS.

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Yes, but it begs the question:

How do people know you do custom orders? How do they gauge the quality of your work, if you don't have a store?

Your initial investment will be large, as you will need to purchase moderate quantities of quality resources.

If you plan to *only* do custom work, then you will likely only need 10k-20k of each resource, as most weapons use very little resources. You will, however, have a LOT of *different* resources to procure.

*shrug*

Sure. Charge more than it cost.

The only thing you'll really need a Factory for are Powerhandlers, as you need multiple Identical Handlers in most Blasters.

However, it wouldn't hurt to have a couple crates of most Gun Components ahead of time.

If you're doing custom work, you'll need an Equipment factory for converting Krayt Tissue into Krayt Enhanced Blaster Power Handlers.

Other than that? You don't really need a factory. Especially if you don't plan to keep a general weaponry store.

You might find that on the spot crafting is a little tough with weaponsmith. Lots of resources to carry and you will NEED a crafting station and experimentation to do anything good. Word of mouth and maybe a vendor with a small collection of good stuff might be great.

I think a small shop is necessary.. even for customs.

I do a lot of single builds for the visible comps. I have samples of them on the walls of my shop and people will ask if they can have one made that looks like the sample. It's amazing how many people have never seen a Stocked and Scoped DXR6 Carbine, or an EE3 made up with the No 2 scope and stock to look like Bobo Fetts.

I also stock the visible comp weapons. Since my main is a Carbineer I have a Select Carbine vendor stocking only krayt or high damage sliced visible comp carbines.

I don't see how you can build "on the spot". I have a staggering amount of materials and I only do firearms.

I have a lot of fun, its a "Custom" business in that most of my stock is unique in some way, and I dont get into the crate weapons trade.
