I am not a weaponsmith yet, but when I get my 2nd character slot opened, I intend to go weaponsmith with him. Specifically I want to make VKs - extremely good VKs. So I am trying to collect resources now as I can find them. So here is my question. I currently have (on Bria) some duralloy steel, and there is some available for auction right now that is better. Here are the stats, and the experimental effectiveness is based on 75% SR, 25% OQ:

Gitu: SR 984, OQ 811,experimental effectiveness is 940

Obiate: SR 986, OQ 981, experimental effectiveness 984

So the steel I have (Gitu), is 94.0%, which seems pretty good, but the Obiate is even better at 98.4%. But current price on the Obiate is 50 cpu.

How big a difference is this going to make in the max damage value of the VK? Is it just 1 or 2 points, or is it gonna be more significant? And if it matters, the copper I have to go with it has an experimental effectiveness of 82.9%.

Any information/advice would be appreciated!

Thanks. I have been using SWGCraft as my resource for schematics, but I have found some that are wrong before. It listed the advanced vibro blade units as being 100% UT, and the VK itself being 75% SR and 25% OQ. So the VK is really 100% SR now.

There is another post on the trade forum selling some Itoce duralloy steel with OQ 211, SR 998, and UT 1000. Beats the heck out of my Gitu (SR 984) and the Obiate (SR 986).

OK, does the difference between the Gitu at SR 984 and the Itoce at SR 998 make much difference in the max damage?

BTW - you weaponsmiths - don't know how you manage to keep track of SO MANY different resources!

If there is a difference, it would only be about 1 point of min and max damage.

I'm on Bria and I'll say the Itoce is the way to go. Its also a new enough spawn that you should be able to buy some relatively cheaply on the trade forums.

Thanks for the information guys. Probably just saved me a bunch of money chasing the WRONG resources.

Thanks for all the info! So I am gonna pass on the high dollar Obiate and work on picking up some Itoce (SR 998) in the 5 to 15 cpu range.

WOW !! That is a insane price for a inorganic. Usually only organic resources go that high!

Well anyway, VK's are 100% SR but SR-984 and SR-999 dont make much of a difference.

Lol, we also have a copper that is now selling for over 130 cpu... although it is 990 CD 1000 OQ.

Welcome to Bria, the server of the insane.
