Thread: slicing past the weapon caps?

ok im a long time weaponsmith and i was startled that someone was able to get a 1.54 base speed pistol
a WS crafted a 1.73 base speed pistol (was an intimidator but thats irrelevent - all pistols cap at 1.73 on craft)
smuggler took it and was able to speed slice PASSED the 1.73 speed cap to 1.52 speed witha 12% slice
the smuggler was a little confused as to how this was possible
the Weapons are on sale on the corby trade forums atm - i just wanted to know

1) is this meant to be possible
2) can every smuggler do this
3) is there some exploit being used here?

My renegade is 1.55 lowmax dmg833 max dmg my base dps is 389

no exploit, its the way it is for all pistols. i get below 1.73 on all my fwg5's with capped damage and 82 or less sacafter slice using casings. it would be easy to create a weapon with crazy low spds should i experiment on spd instead of sac on my parts
