I am currently working my way up to master using ye olde projectile riffle barrel macro 4 tehwin method. However I have also taken the time to work out what resources I should start gathering so I can make at least semi decent bazar saleable weapons for the time I graduate to master.

So far I have found a nice reactive gas spawn and I have been harvesting it for at least 3 days now. The only propblem is that the OQ of it is not that high (only 551).

So could someone tell me what the bare minimum OQ is that I should consider for all the resources I am going to use. I currently have a good stash of OQ999 aluminium which I am going to save.

I assume I am going to spend a lot of time with my survey tools in the up and coming days

With 42 individual rare resources required for Master Weaponsmithing and various stats taking priority on different parts... hahah good luck getting a list of minimums you're looking for. Not to mention you'll soon find out that some of the required resources for our weapons are so horridly mismatched (like guns that take a 50/50 Con/OQ and the max on the particular type is something like 80/500ish)... tends to ruin most guns IMHO... bah... I shouldn't even post about our resources... it's like pouring salt in a very old wound.

what Timbre said....

Concentrate on advance component list (theyll be the toughest to find in higher qualities) and keep an eye out for anyinorganic with high conductivity and overall quality, youll probably be able to use it in something

theres too many specific materials needed to list them all here , go to swgcraft to review all the resources needed, good luck!

(i've been surveying since the first week, and still need some specific raw materials to make some weapons) If that gives you any idea of the challenge to being a good weaponsmith...

OQ isn't the best attribute for all made items. If I look at % attributes for made components/assembly some don't weigh OQ as much as other attributes. When you open a schematic for an item, like a curved sword for example, it might say attribute 100% Shock Resist with a Sword Core attribute 100% Unit Toughness. You want to find resources that fit for each component and final assembly attribute. Most ranged weapons have 50/50% OQ/CON for final assembly some need component resources with high Heat/Cold Resist, etc... (not dependant on OQ at all)

OQ is not the final word on if a resource is the best for a metal or what-have-you overall for everything that requires a metal or what-have-you. When I first started making weapons at Master WS I didn't realize this thus I made some pretty cruddy weapons (I was asking myself, "but OQ is 991 why does the weapon stink?"). Well, I wasn't looking at what attributes have more weight to experimentation and overall attributes. After I started following attributes weigh scale my weapons have been as good as I've seen made by other MWS. It makes sense to me now especially after seeing vendors sell resources at 10-25 credits per unit when the OQ is 300 or worse. It's becasue it's UT or whatever is 900+ and it can greatly outweigh OQ for certain made items.
