Hello all,
Just wanted to drop a note and introduce myself. I am a wookie Novice Weaponsmith on Shadowfire. My goal is to make nothing but the best #$%# Bowcasters in the Shadowfire Galaxy. I have no interest in marketing anything other than bowcasters.
Any tips, suggestions, or comments are welcome.

Seriously, you aren't going to make any money just selling bowcasters. That being said, go ahead and make the absolute best bowcasters on the server. Advertise that fact and use it for a selling point. But if you want to be true master weaponsmith you'll need to gather the resources and take the time to make a bit of everything. You'll note that many wookies aren't carrying the races signature weapon. That's because they pretty much suck compared to other weapons. Sad but true.

Well then it's a good thing I'm not doing it for the money!
Seriously, I spent a weekend looking for a decient bowcaster and never did run across one... ended up buying a hunk of junk. I'd just like to try my big furry hands at doing it. Perhaps I can make some that don't completely fustrate wookie kind. Then again, I'm only as good as the sum of my schematics...

Well in order for you to make a good bowcaster you'll need to make master weaponsmith for all the experimentation points and you'll need to gather the absolute top resources since all the experimentation in the world will not make up for crap resources. Good luck. Making master weaponsmith is not a fun grind.
That being said, you can do it in less than a week. Here's how:
1. Get a good 450K of grind steel.
2. Get a good crafting macro (search on it there are plenty of suggestions) and a bag of ice for your poor mouse hand.
3. Make projectile pistol barrels until you get firearms I.
4. Make projectile rifle barrels.
5. Keep training and soon you'll be able to wear the coveted Master Weaponsmith tags and enjoy the constant barrage of tells. =P
Of course without good resources you can only make crap so wear the tag at the risk of your sanity.
In the mean time contact a master weaponsmith and give him the schematic requirements. Ask him to pull the very best resources so you don't have to do the searching for them. I've done this many times for wookies in my guild at no charge. BTW get enough resources to make more than one. You may even talk to your WS friend and see if you can give him the schematic or him give you admin access to his factor to make a couple crates of them. Then you can open your very own Bowcaster shop.
