Thread: Question on Featherweight FGW5:
No, really, I am looking to put together a Featherweight FGW5. I have the schematic, and some really good +175 max damage -.7 speed reinforced casings (which I got for free from a stanger in the AH cantina... Thought they were PuP's at first, and had a mighty surprise) and I'm looking at a scope for it.
I was wondering, what else do I need? I've been looking through the guides, and I can't seem to figure out whether some bug with scopes has been fixed. I see a stack of 8 with good stats (+15 accuracy) on the vendor search for 1 mill, but I don't know if the gun will accept just any scopes. And will the Featherweight work with these reinforced casings?
My final question. Will I get close to the max damage on these? And same with speed? For speed, I can always slice it (I'm a smuggler) but damage is a bit trickier. If this gun is good enough, I'm hoping to put my to-be-newly acquired ADK on it.
Any help would be great. I don't want to mess up these incredible components I got for free, or a few million on scopes that won't work (or has bugs). I'm sorry you have to answer my stupid questions, but I looked for as long as I could at the guides, and couldn't find the answers.

Hi, I'd like to purchase... Just kidding!

Welp, lessee here.
You'll want the stack of scopes IF they are the ones that BH drop and not crafted ones. Crafted ones actually add to the speed stat (which is bad). I'm guessing the ones you're looking at are BH mission drops, so you should grab them.
Whether or not the gun can be capped in damage will primarily depend on the weaponsmith's materials and how he designs the subcomponents. Any established WS on your server SHOULD be able to damage cap your weapon. What will be a little more challenging is double-capping it - 966 max damgae with 65 sac. It can be done, but he's going to have to get a little lucky on his experimentation, and the entire design will have to be aimed at that goal, but it can be done. (Due to the higher damage cap, I find FW FWG-5's noticably harder to double cap than the typical 948-max pistol.)
The scope bug was fixed, so your gun will do kinetic damage.
I've never even seen testing for speed to see what minimum speed is, as you're always FAR better off going for damage and sac. A FW FWG-5 with reinforced casing and a BH-dropped scope will be plenty fast, in the 2.00 to 2.05 range even if the WS goes for the damage/sac double-cap, and you'll be able to use specials far longer in fights with the lower sac than you would if it were 1.8 speed and 90 sac.

I would say look for some really high accuracy scopes. +50to +60. I am a big fan of the FWG5 and featherweight, but that could be because I am also master pistoleer as well as weaponsmith.....
I tried the DE-10 look but got bored with it....

DE-10's Ugh. If we could use a decent barrel with the thing they might be worth it again.
Good luck finding the +50/+60 scopes. They are ALOT harder to come across nowadays.
With casing in the low 170's(which is still good.. so no frets), your weaponsmith will have to burn an extra point to cap the damage. So, plan on an action cost of about 70ish if he made the sub's right.

Thought I better fix that now before the new Corr has a kitten.

I can't believe what they did to the DE-10s
Yeah the high accuracy scopes are no longer dropping, so you will either have to suffice with the +13s +14s etc (which still give a speed reduction) or find some looted before the "nerf"

Multiple people have tested and demonstrated that accy. is probably not working, so I wouldn't spend alot of money or time to find those (now very rare) "pre-nerf" scopes.
Yeah I heard the same thing, I have a bunch of them hoarded away for it they ever do get fixed.
Typical SOE, release awesome accuracy enhancements that don't work... then nerf them anyway ![]()
