Ok, I've been reading the FAQs and the other related posts for a week now and I think I have a good idea how to go about this.
I would be very greatful if a few of the top weaponsmiths would sanity check my plan for crafting subcomponents to help double-cap sac/damage. I recently inherited a 12 point ws character from a good friend who left the game and I've spent about 30 mil on resources to make some good weapons. I have 5 casings with 184 dam, -.79 spd, -8 sac. Would like to make fwg5s with them. I also have 5 184 dam, -.79 spd, -8 sac power cells thatI would like to make an ALR with.
My plan for the subcomponents is to experiment as much as I can into efficiency and put the rest into damage. I have bh looted scopes that I will be using that are -.79 speed, 14 acc. Unfortunately I dont have any pre-cu stocks for teh ALR so my plan would be to max out sac first, then put the rest of the experimentation into speed unless you guys feel those points would be better spent elsewhere.
Please feel free to critique my plan as you all are the experts and I've spent a lot of credits on this. Iwant to make the best product I possibly can.
Thank you very much for your time

If you max out the SAC on the stocks, you won't need to max out the SAC on the cells for the rifle. Make a rifle with your standard ABPH and the stock, and see what the SAC comes out to. If you max SAC on the barrel/ABPH then you should be within 2-3 points of maxing SAC. Any more SAC reduction is wasted on the final build. For example, my barrels are -9 SAC and my ABPHs are -8 SAC. With my stocks and resources, I can make an ALR that comes out with an 84 SAC on assembly. With my power cells' SAC bonus, I can drop the SAC on the ABPH to -10 or -11 and then cap the SAC on the final build. If I maxed out the SAC on the ABPH, it would drop to -15 or -16, and that would be a waste of points. So test out your standard builds on the HLR before you make the ABPHs with the cells, and see how much further you need to drop your SAC to cap on assembly. Then, you can put the extra points into speed/damage as you see fit. With the casings, though, I always max the SAC on those first since pistols can't use stocks and therefore have no SAC reducers.
