im just wondering how much a weapon should have the price increased if its made with kyrat materials? y is it that a weapon with like 20 or so damage less is 80k or so when a weapon with kyrat materials costs over a million for essentially the same weapon?

First of all... Its Krayt!

Second, usually the damage difference is more than 20, especially with the stats on krayt tissues dropping post-CU. Also, because of the damage boost a WS can focus more on the SAC, Accuracy and Speed mods without having to throw as many exp points in damage, so you end up with a weapon that does more damage, is quicker, more accurate and lower SAC cost.

Third, unless a WS can hunt krayts with an Alt or has a friendly guild that will supply him with tissues - he has to pay a rather substancial amount for the tissues himself and needs to charge more to break even and maybe even make a profit

As already mentioned the main problem for many WS is the market itself. When the price increases for the tissues then the price for the final product needs to follow, too.

In these post-CU time krayt tissues are quite helpful because they add some speed (even at the 10% rate) and max damage - and maxdam seems to be the only important stat for the user's damage right now. When you think about the chance to get 30 more damage with the ranged shot and 0.03 less speed for the weapon itself then 100k for a simple krayt weapon might be worth thinking about. When you think about styles (which are multipliers to the "common" damage) then a +30 might become a +60 or even more (at maybe 2*0.03 less speed).

Finally again market - here supply and demand. When there is a chance to sell a specific krayt weapon for 200k then I don't know any reason to sell it for less

i tend to do : price for unenhanced weapon + trade forum price for tissue = final price

then go hunt krayt with my alt

Alot of the time it dependes on how much you Krayt Tissue cost. I personnely try not to spend of 100k on a stack of Krayt Tissue where as others will pay 1 mil or more for the same stack (note I generally don't get much good stuff on the Trade Forum doing this). But it reduces my Krayt Weapon cost. Right now i've made some 300+ DPS (high SAC though not 12pt smith) Scatters and sold them for 125-150k and for the most part that is cheap I think for that kind of a weapon.

the way i do it, because market economy is always changing, is i run three auctions: one for rifles, one for carbines, and one for pistols. i base my pricing off the average sale price from the auction, as well as what i will pay for krayt tissue. after two or three months i will repeat the process to see how the market has changed.

Well... unenhanced weapon price + krayt forum sale price does not work when it comes to (80%) multi-powerhandler weapons. You always loose the tissue for the schematic itself. You have to handle the bad experimentations on the component and on the final product. You have to handle critical assemblies (barely happens of course with the proper support). Biggest problem for me: I try to have every weapon available although I do know that I wont sell some of them. Just for having the variety.

I always price on number of component - the "common" ones 3k per component. I do not see any reason why I should price enhanced weaponry with another scheme. My pricing guide for enhanced weapons isthree times the costs of purchase. I usually buy tissuesat 1k per dam, 1k per 0.1 speed, so 33k per base tissue. That leads to 100k (I do not count non enhanced components in enhanced weapons) for the scatters, 400k for LLCs (sold quite alot of them before CU), 1 MCr for a T21 (now 500k).

I see some other WS charge per DPS, but a weapon that does (dpswise) the same amount than another one andneeds three times the amount of tisses *should* be somewhat more expensive. A typical problem these days are the ADKs reducing the amount of high end weapons being sold but I see many new player rushing in and starting to buy their first enhanced weapons...

this is my advantage, i personally have been playing for around 6 months but because in the CU and mostly all of pre CU i wore little to no armour i die quite a bit so i see no reason to buy really expensive weapons because i no that on me it will break very quickly, im a sucker for thinking really strong stuff is easy kills cause i cna root how worng i am, or i can use feign death to not die doesnt work against kyrats that can basically kill me in a few hits to one hit last time i went there (pre cu)

Weapons don't decay on death. They only decay from use. It's armor that has death decay. In fact, an expensive weapon might help you survive longer.

I am unguilded so have to buy all my tissues. The cost of the final weapon depends totally on the price I paid for the tissues. That's why I get mails sometimes asking why a weapon with much better all round stats than a similar model is alot cheaper (after they've bought it of course). It's because the tissues were alot cheaper.

I got a load of mid-range tissues a couple of days ago in a very good deal (up to about max dmg 100) and sold some Adv Lasers, E11 Mk2 and T-21s for about 90k-125k a pop. Needless to say they flew. Loot sellers like this guy are a credit to the game and he can have whatever he wants whenever he wants it from me in the future.

I have paid very highly for tissues 160+ in the past but I am wary to do so now. The market seems flooded with high-end krayted HSCs etc etc and to make an Adv Laser, E11 Mk2, T-21 etc means a very high final price that doesn't really seem to be value for money as these tissues aren't really that hard to get.

I'm afraid I don't have anything substantive to add to this thread, except to (also) point out that it's K-R-A-Y-T. Like "crate." "Kryat" is bad enough, but "kyrat" is truly fingernails on the blackboard.

Sorry, pet peeve #9.
