Thread: Introducing SpaceMining Resources is not Acceptable

firstly, and it's a personal preference, I hate JTL. I hate Space. And I do know there's not many shipwrights on my server, but still I admit it's a personal opinion. So, I'm biased, but this still really bothers me:

from HoC:

"Brekkee - *Guest21877* Question: Will the resources in space get used for other crafting professions (Weaponsmith, Armorsmith, etc..) ?
Darth_Platypus - I do intend to use the asteroid resources in more schematics, because every time they are used in a schematic it makes space mining a more valuable and meaningful activity. I don't have specifics on this yet, but definitely expect to see more of them. "

SpaceMining is only a tier4 or ace-pilot available profession. Regardless even if it's less, introducing yet another constraint on WS is just beyond the pale. If these are rare components like tissues then fine, but I'm depressed to think of any schems coming require master pilot. WT.H don't they help us instead introducing finally new schems requiring an entirely different style of play.

Doesn't require Master Pilot or even tier 4. A tier 1 should be able to mine. You can put the mining laser and cargo hold on a fighter and the small hold can hold 250 units of resources. It's a long boring process and is more like playing asteroids in the 70's.

Of couse a higher tier pilot with a bigger ship and tractor beam along with the mining laser is going to be able to mine more resources and at a faster rate.

If you don't have the cash to buy the laser or cargo hold and you have RoTW you can get 1 of each for free just by carrying a message for Flash Harrison.

Also with more potential customers, you may acctually see people mining these resources so that you can just buy them.

I've seen alot of the resources being 1000oq..... is that right? Is it supposed to be like Wind Energy and have a fixed stat?

All the stuff I've mined has either been 500oq or 1000oq.

Yes, space resources have only one stat (OQ), and it's either 500 or 1000--it never changes. So space resources are just another way to dumb down crafting. If we end up needing space resources, the results will all be identical. If the devs feel the need to force yet more resource requirements on us, I'd prefer they be existing resources (such as Kelsh copper or Bronzium iron, as mentioned above by Mor-dan).

agreed.

besides, i would like to see some new resource requirements on new weapons instead of them being carbon copies of another weapon. Kelsh Copper would be something we could use, as well as bronzium iron and many types of ore.
