I've been away for a while, and my weapons are outdated .... This whole CU thing has got me feeling like a golfball in the tall grass ......lost.

I'm looking for heavy weapons as well asrifles and pistols .... I was wondering if perhaps you gentlemen could tell me what I need to look foras far as stats and cost go ... basically .. What stats make the difference between so so .. and kick arse weaponry.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated .... thanks.

Unfortunately, there isn't one answer to that question. It matters what profession you are, what Combat Level you are, and what your fighting preferences are. If you want a rough, and I mean very rough estimate of how good a weapon is, you can look at it's base DPS listed when you examine a weapon. As said, this is a very rough way to tell, though. Also look at the SAC at the bottom of the weapon's statistics. Generally, you want this to be below 105 for decent weapons. Below 90 for any good weapons, and below 85 for really good weapons. Your base dps should be around 300 or higher.

As said, these are rough, rough, rough, rough, rough. Max damage tends to effect your actual damage output more than DPS does. For PVP, the damage range becomes important as largest ranges means more mitigation. For solo fighting when you are spamming lots of specials, you are going to need the lowest SAC weapon you can find.

There are probably a lot of good posts stickied on your professions forums about new weapons and special for whatever profession you are. This is a rough estimation of what you might want to look for, but until you actually go out and use these weapons, you may not know exactly what you need.

Just to add that if your looking for heavy weaponry ,as in Commando stuff ,the SAC caps at 100 so dont be put off if you cant find anything lower than this

It's rather more involved than that. DPS isnt the end all be-all though it can be used as a guage on the quality of a weapon. A 300+ DPS weapon with 120+ SAC wont do you much good though. Ideally you want a mix of Low SAC (Which varries from weapon to weapon type. As stated above yes, Commando weapons, lowest SAC is 100. But for example rifles I think cap at 85, and i've seen pistols with lower SAC than that)

Ideally you want to look for much the same stats as before CU. High damage, Low speed (bout 2.0 or less is a good number) and low SAC. Meet the firs two requirements and your DPS is going to be pretty damn high anyway.

Look atthis thread

If you find a gun thats capped in DMG or SAC or near, it's good. There are many other factors such the range between min-max dmg, accuracy, and sometimes speed doesn'tfactor as much because of the warmup and cooldowns between specials.
