Thread: Critisism of weapon Hard Caps.

After a few months of crafting weapons following the combat upgrade I have reached the following conclusions.


Weapon Hard Caps with the Looted components available are going to eventually kill the high end weapons market causing the economy to stagnate.


More and more weapons are now in circulation that have acheived the damage cap with good speed / low SAC.


These weapons are all very similar and althought they currently cost a lot to produce / are sold for a lot, as time passes more and more of these weapons will become available.


This will eventually result in a large part of the player base owning weapons that are in essence almost identical.

With ADK's these guns will NOT leave circulation.


These weapons currently are at the crafting cap and cannot be bettered. There is nothing left to strive towards and these guns are effectivly perfection in the current system.


I must therefore argue a case that crafting caps be removed to allow higher damage. Even with The damage cap removed I beleive that such weapons would still fall within close parameters as it still requires upto 8-9 points of experimentation to cap a 1184 damage rifle using a +30 damage stock and 180+ damage enhancers.


Anyone have any thoughts.

I would fine if they were to just tone down the damage of tissues, gorax bones or whatever. Yes, the 180+'s should still drop, but be really rare.

The real problem in my opinion is the ADK. And while we cant ask for that to be removed (as that wouldnt be fair to the players that have spend a lot of credits on them), we need to come up with ideas of how to counter them.


My idea is to make Elemental Damage a lot more significant and make mobs resistant/vulnerable to certain kind of elemental damage. (also work this into armours to make PVP more varied). If this was implemented people would need 4-5 different weapons for different encounters and thus we wouldnt feel the adk as much anymore as only very few players would be able to adk their whole arsenal

too late, there's too many in cirulation now. Even so, given a large enough perioud of time, all weapons will acheive the same stats. The rarity of the objects will just drive the price of these guns up.

Danevang, good idea. A lot of focus is now on Kinetic Weapons as most ranged use high energy resistant recon armor.
