Thread: Weapon Sub Caps

Now I could have _SWORN_ earlier when I'd been poking about the WS forums I'd seen some post CU info somewhere on the caps on subcomponents. But now for the life of me I cant find it and the stupid search thing is bugged for me and wont bloody well search.


And hey to be perfectly honest I'm not too familar with any of the caps/weaponcrafting since hell. I went WS soley for the purpose of making grenades for my comando as well as commando weapons. Since i had a hard time finding any decent ones on bria. That didnt have totally insane SAC costs. But it's only recently. Now that I got off my rear and invested enough to get myself up to 12pt WS status that I've started looking into crafting the really high end kinda stuff everyone wants. (Mostly again for myself, and guildmates. And yeah.. probably a few for sale so I can make money since I'm sick of making armor.)


Anyway. Thing is I dont really know what the caps are on subs. And i'm trying to figgure out what a decent. Post CU crafted component tends to look like stat wise for unenhanced stuff. Mostly so I can plan out what to do with some really nice 180 damage powercells I got off a guildmate I'm going to turn into a PFT. (there doesnt seem to be anyone making really high end enhanced commando weapons on Bria Even though there are quite a few commandos out there on Bria).


Anyway. So I've got some pretty high end resources for advanced blaster powerhandlers and barrels. But I'm wondering really what the hard caps are. And what kinda stats I can expect to get out of the average decently crafted ABPH and other sub components (stocks, barrels etc). And I cant find a thing right now. Can anyone help me out?

I've never hit a cap on any of them.

The only cap I'm reasonably sure is Advanced Blaster Power Handelers SAC is -10.

Ok, let me correct myself, without loot components. I haven't had the pleasure of looting any power cells with my bounty hunter yet.

not 100% positive, but i think the speed bonus on subs is -2.0. i had about 10-15 crates of krayt handlers before the curb - max damage baried between 70 and 150 on them, and speed varied.after the curb, their damage was like 23-57 on all, but every one had a speed of -2.0, so i am assuming that is the cap.

hmm. Yeah thing is I know they at least have a damage cap. I'll have to pester my guildmate about it. As he hit a damage cap on some enhanced ABPHs he crafted one day.

-2.0 speed is pretty much the cap i think, atleast with resources...


starting at -2.0 though barely anything is added towards wep, so its waste to exp over -2 imo.

i think what you need to consider is the unenhanced levels of subcomponents (which allows me to figure out how the enhanced weapon will turn out)


crafted for eff/spd most subs are approx...


15-41 damage

-1.05 speed

-9 attack cost


stocks are approx

0 speed

-13 attack cost


don't have scope stats written down so i dont want to give incorrect info.

I should also mention, that the decimal point on sub-components appears to be in the wrong place. If the cap is -2.0, it really adds -.20

As most ABPH are experimented on eff/speed there's little mention of the damage cap... but I think I may have hit it.. at 222.

I have made ABPH with a max dam of 228 (that I can remember, though I might have made some even higher) and Im sure they will go higher yet

Hmm. Ok well good to know my ABPH's are turning otu decently then. Was sort of hard to tell. And I wanted to make sure I could make a good ABPH before I start mucking bout with enhancers. Especially as WS ones tend to be so hideously expensive.


As for stocks. Dunno bout others but personally I tend to go for SAC all the way then dump whats left in speed. Which leaves me usually at -21 SAC, .9 or 8x spd or some such. Cant recall waht the last one I made turned out.
