I am considering starting a Weaponsmith character on my server. This char will be built from the ground up, considering he'll be started from scratch so I can get the true feel of the character.
1What Race do you suggest?
2How do you suggest grinding the class and WHAT do you suggest go along with it? (I was thinking Master Weaponsmith/Master Merchant)?
3 How do you suggest going about getting resources? (Mining your own, buying etc)
4 How viable is +25/+25 Experimentation end game when it comes to selling weapons and takeing orders?
5 Last but not least, whatis the best way to GRIND out hte profession to get em up to Master Weapon Smith / Master Merchant without spending hours doing so, IE Is there a single weapon that's better to craft than others, what?
Lemme know guys cause I plan on turning this into a full business to compete with FROSTWIND on the starsider server *winks at Frostwind because he knows she will read this.*
Any info would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.
0 To Start read the faq and sticky's 5 times. And i'm serieus don't just read it. but study it it's your best friend from now on.
1 Race doesn't make a difference. Human has +15 artisan exp not importend enough. And there is mon cals they have +10 weapon assembly. But don't worry about it they don't cost as much as the exp tapes will cost you.
2 You can get master merchant but you don't have to right now you won't stock thousands of weapons at the start. Master artisan will be helpfull as well. Or a friend who has it to make certain schematics for you. Otherwise get novice entertainer to buff yourself a bit. And survey skills of the artisan prof you will want that.
3 Start working with survey skills and factory's asap. Check swgcraft.com for resources. Check the galaxy trade for harvest contracts from the big smiths. And check for auctions with resources for sale. Get a list of all the resources you will need. If it's really expensive go loot hunting get some combat first and sell the loot.
4 Assembly not so much but experimentation is 2 extra points to use during crafting. 2 on the subs and on the final combine that's 8 on a pistol and 10 on carb/rifle. But don't go crazy and start buying those +1 tapes it won't get you to 12points. Spend your money on some resources so you can make decent stuff and then save up for tapes.
5Read the faq/stickies for grinding. very short blaster rifle barrels. And if you can collect the resources for heavy warheads(thoranium steel/hydron3 gas/skevon gas) if i still remember correctly)
MWS MForcecrafter, some merchant, some musician/dancer/ent for self inspiring.
Do whatever you can, mine current spawns, buy old stuff, ask guildies, use 30k kits.
Very +25/25 and MFC = yay
Check the stickies, Heavy warhead mechs at 0020 WS.
