Thread: Are rancor teeth working?
I got a nice rancor tooth to make a curved sword, the tooth was 167 dmg, and I named the sword 'King's Sword of the Heavens' and was sliced up to about 450 dmg.
But i guess thats a really good tooth, i traded it to a rancor hunter for some krayt tissues since i was a krayt hunter.
They are a LOT slower, maybe 1.2, but in the hands of a master it doesn't really matter - they are hitting every second regardless.
Now if i can find out where this guy is getting them (he brought me a matched set of 6 +132's and 9 +129's) i'd be a happy camper

I have heard two different statements about crafting swords with Rancor Teeth.
a) You put the Rancor tooth INSTEAD of the Sword Core in the schematic
b) You use a Sword Core as usual, but use the Rancor Tooth as an Optional Extra when crafting the sword.
Which is correct?
The tooth reaplced the sword core. The normal tooth found have lower damage combination then using quality resources to craft an advance sword core. With resources of UT greater then 850, you could craft an advance sword core with greater stat than using the tooth.
However, some people claim to see (i have not seen one yet) tooth with damage of over 100. Now with that, you would use the tooth since it yield much higher damage.
Has anyone tried a racor tooth in a cleaver? I was wondering becaouse the cleavers damage spread always seems to be much tighter than the rest(at least on all of the ones that i have see) so maybe using a tooth in one of these won't result in the mitigation penalties. Also ranged proffs don't get melee mitigation so you could still use a sword with a large damage gap on them effectivly(if you can catch them thatis lol) I'll enlist a guildie to see how mitigation effects a non-melee proff, but I'm not a weaponsmith so I have no clue how that end works out.
Anyways its worth a try, It'd be nice to have a working enhancer for swords.
Has anyone actually found above 167 dmg?
I traded some tissue for a tooth, knowing the tooth was pretty uber, but wasnt sure at all on the rarity of it, or whether other people have had similar finds.
