You need many specific resources and many diff stats and the best quality you can get on your server
for example all final asembly of ranged weapons require highest possible stats in OQ/COND 50/50 split % wise
All melee weapons in final assembly require highest possible stat of SR (shock resistance) 100%
Components for ranged can differ from UT, COND, HR,SR, OQ, etc all depends what component you are crafting ..just pay attention to the info on the right of the crafting tool as you have selected the item to craft ...also swgcraft is very helpful and you can check the WS skill tree to see things you can not carft yet to see what they might need ..specific named resources as well
As for collecting resources I would start now
some resources appear and then are not back in descent stats for months ...

First of all, get and use Fooman's excel tool: priceless, just priceless.
http://swgcraft.com/tools.php
Lists of all resources and quality requirements, cross-linked to current spawns and your inventory.
Second, look at what you plan to be crafting and get the corresponding resources (and keep an eye out for the ones not currently spawning). When starting out, it's really too much to try to track all three trees. For example, I'm just putting aside melee and munitions for now and focusing on making good advanced blaster power handles and barrels. (for which I still need 3 resources to spawn or buy).
