My friend is a Master Weaponsmith and I'm his partner in crime (the slicing smuggler lol). Anyway were having a terrible time making money by selling weapons. He has about 4 or 5 vendors up with stuff on them we sit all day spamming in busy cities. No one seems to want to buy our stuff...we're pretty much dead for ideas. He's taking up armorsmith as a 2nd profession so we can sell that too but lately I think he's almost ready to give up on both and go BH. He's got a lot of resources to make stuff but the problem is its hard to find all the good OQ things. He's a master artisian too but it just doesn't seem to be fitting together like we planned.

I told him to take 1 weapon at a time, gather the good resources to make it and go from starport to starport trying to sell it manually. What you guys think? I mean I need some feedback here because he's getting really stressed out 2 months and I dont think we've sold anything good ..he's made a few Scythe Swords they seem to be hot sellers...

You wont sell anything in any quantity unless you use good resources.

I suggest spending time to buy resources and harvest them and only make weapons out of the good resources you have that you can make.

Target the master weapons toi make any money, such as the power hammer and the like, make the best weapons for each profession. Those are the ones that sell the most and other epople just use the other weapons to grind up.

Make grenades. They're all the rage right now, thanks to the FS grind, and resource quality isn't as important as it is for other weapons. They're a pain to make, and they eat up a lot of factory time, but a full run of C-12 grenades can sell for a million or more credits--and higher level grenades go for more.

Otherwise, focus on melee weapons to start. Generally speaking, it easier to get great resources for melee weapons than it is for firearms. Work on gradually building up your resource collection. Buy what you can find at a reasonable price, but don't break the bank. Eventually a new record-breaking resource of a given type will spawn, and when it does, drop as many heavy harvestors on it as you can--and buy more while the spawn is fresh and prices are relatively low.

I think most weaponsmiths that started out poor have been through this. I started WS a year ago with a few million credits to my name, needless to say I was broke by the end of the grind (harvesters, maint...). Many Many times throughout the year I contemplated giving up the profession because I just couldn't sell weapons. I stuck with it and slowly gathered the server's best resources (couldn't afford to buy them), only made weapons that were the best possible, slowly built up my stock. Now I have all the best resources, rockin vendors (location is the key), and life is good. It just takes time man, no way around it uless you have the capital to buy all your resources.

In my opinion, regular advanced weapons are fillers to make a vendor look full and accomodate the occasional noob. All the credits will come from grenades as mentioned before (pain in the butt) and specialty weapons. Really look into crafting quality limited schem weapons (Scythe, Hack, Geo blaster...), and loot-enhanced weapons (VKs, Acklay melee weapons, Nym-enhanced pistols, and of course Krayt enhanced).

Servers are mature now, everyone has credits, not a large market forregular advanced weapons, let alone sub-par regular advanced weapons. Everyone wants the loot-enhanced and limited-schem weapons. A damage sliced Nym-enhanced VK will go for about 500k on my server, Nym-enhanced pistols 20-50k, acklay weapons 100-500k, DXR-6b rifles around150k...

If you can't make loot-enhanced weapons, make carbines and rifles with visible stocks and scopes, hang them near your vendor so people will know the weapons with those names have visible stocks & scopes, name them something cool like:

Voodoo EE3 Fett Edition (EE3 Carbine)

Voodoo Assault Rifle (Laser Carbine)

Voodoo Assasin (Laser Rifle)

The bazaar in Cnet is your best friend starting out.

Between the 2 of you keep a mix of 40+(20'ish each)starter weapons stocked on bazzar. You can slice them if you want, but unsliced sell well and keep the other smugglers busy. Compare prices and set yours similar....or lower or higher.

  • Pistols: D18, D17, DL44's and Scouts

  • Carbines: Laser, DH17, E11's (most will stick with Laser)

  • Rifle: DLT's, Laser, E11 (Most will stick with Laser here as well)

  • 1h:Sword, Curved, Rykks

  • 2h:Curved, 2 Handed Axes

  • Polearm: Lance, Few Metal staves.

***Use you best resources on the Lasers as they are my best sellers.

  • In the "Item Description" be sure to put your vendor location and say what other weapons you have stocked. Bind copy and paste to a key set to make that easier.

Lastly and most importantly. Name your weapons VERY well:

  • Laser Carbine [49-325 Dmg 4.0 Spd](WP Tatooine 4338, 4475) (Stats in name will be seen first and easier and sell quicker....VERY good)

  • Steve's Uber Laser Carbine of Deathdealing (gotta double click and read description to see stats...VERY bad)

I load 20 starter weapons per day on cnet bazaar and usually sell out. Those weapons create customers who have your products,a waypoint to your shop and a list of your products (From item description). They will most likely come to you when they need new weapons. Reminder: Most new players rarely leave the player cities. You establish your brand with them and you just might have a customer for life.

I get many who buy my starters. Become masters. Score loot or hear about Scythes (or whatever). Email/Tell me to buy the unique high dollar stuff. And it all started with that littleD18 pistol I sold for 1000 credits on the bazaar 6 months ago.

*** I also repair any of my weapons for free and If I break it........I replace it for free.

Try open street selling. I have found its just the easiest. You beat those people that use cough stores. You just work up alot of crates of items, Go to coronet theed moenia, and anywhere else on your server where players gather. Sell them on the spot, and make fast money. I made 2 mil credits in a few days doing this, and realized I am saveing money, by not running vendors, and haveing to cut prices. The market is there.

Hi, I am about to take up weaponsmithing on my alt. I'm sorry to thread steal, but I think it's better this way than Creating a whole new thread.

What type of factory do I require to produce weapons? I don't want to buy the wrong type

Also, how many will I require?

I was thinking 4, or maybe 3, and an equipment factory for pups (if they aren't the same kind).

Sorry for going off-topic, and thanks.

Get an equipoment factory for all your needs.

I would get 4 personally if you have the lots to spare or have more than one character. it will come in handy when you are making stuff that take multiple components, or frankly just making a few things at the same time.

What i do is put all the houses and factories on one toon and all the harvesters on the other so I can drop all 10 heavy harvesters if I need to in one swoop.

Thank you

I'll try and do that. I have a friend (rl) that plays also. We each have 2 characters, so I have 40 lots to play with. Hopefully this will help my resource collection a great deal!
