I am trying to understand the way resource stats are used in the experimentation of weapons. I read the latest Dev post about how only the Max cap of the stat is used in determining the % it counts for. But I get bogged down when I go any further...
I am making a Vorpal Blade +20, and it needs OQ and CD, from Steel and a Chemical.
Steel OQ capis 500-1000
Steel CD cap is 1-500
Chemical OQ cap is 1-1000
no CD
The Steel I am using is called "Gummi", the Chemical is called "Bears".
Gummi steel has a 750oq and 400cd
Bears chemical has a 500oq
How will these 2 resources figure into the final product? What percentages do the actual stats count as? Does the missing CD in the Chemical count toward the weighted average as a "zero" or not at all?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm assuming a 50-50 stat breakdown on the resources needed for the weapon. If this is not true, substitute the proper percentage number in the equation.
steel, oq 750
750 oq x 1000 oq cap = 75%
75% x 50% resources split = 37.5%
steel cd 400
400 cd x 500 cd cap = 80%
80% x 50% resource split = 40%
Steel total - 37.5% oq + 40% cd = 77.5% total
Chemical 500 oq
500 oq x 1000 oq cap = 50%
50% x 50% resource split = 25%
Chemcial cd is none, so you get an automatic 100% for it, if the system is working properly.
100% x 50% resource split = 50%
Chemcial total - 25% + 50% = 75% total
COMBINED TOTAL
77.5 + 75 / 2 = 76.25 experimentation percentage per line
steel, oq 750
750 oq x 1000 oq cap = 75%
75% x 50% resources split = 37.5%
steel cd 400
400 cd x 500 cd cap = 80%
80% x 50% resource split = 40%
Steel total - 37.5% oq + 40% cd = 77.5% total
Chemical 500 oq
500 oq x 1000 oq cap = 50%
50% x 50% resource split = 25%
Chemcial cd is none, so you get an automatic 100% for it, if the system is working properly.
100% x 50% resource split = 50%
Chemcial total - 25% + 50% = 75% total
COMBINED TOTAL
77.5 + 75 / 2 = 76.25 experimentation percentage per line

Great, thanks! I'm working on a Factory Run sheet that will spit out all the raw resources needed to make an item, including chematics and components. This part here is an addition.
So does anyone know of a case where a missing stat does not apply as 100% in the formula? I heard someplace that the Slot makes a difference too. If a slot calls for "chemical" and one of the experimentation requirements for the schematic is PE, then if I put Lube Oil in the chemical slot, that the result would be 0% because there IS a "chemical" that has a PE rating.
Anyway, I appreciate the help!
