Basicly not every recource can have 1000 in every catigory. for example polysteel copper cannot have above 800 SR. so 800 SR is the cap.
There is a list somwhere on swg of the recource caps i dont have the link off hand. ask me in game later if you still dont understand

I still don't get it, why do some say "300-1000"
what does that mean? If there is a 800 cap on somethiing wouldnt it be "0-800"? Instead I see a bunch of like "534-1000" etc..

There are Min and Max ranges for a lot of the stuff - if it says 300-1000 then thats that range of that stat for that particularresource. The higher you are to the max range (or cap) the better.

The reason there are caps is because Pre-CU weapons didn't have a "hard cap" like now and the resources dictated what stats a weapon could achieve. So they tried to limit it by using resource stats. A 800 cap on a resource would limit the max experiment you could get on the weapon because it was compared to 1000 max (800/1000 = 80% experiment max).
Post-CU they changed how it all works but kept the resource caps (would have been just as easy to make all resources able to reach 1000). Now if a resource has a 800 cap the stat is compared against the cap and not 1000. For example if the stat is 640 and cap is 800 that gives 80% experiment max....if it's 800 which is the cap it's now 100% experiment max.
So a resource with a 800 cap and you actually have the resource with 800 stat, pre-CU it would give you 80%, post-CU it would give 100% max.
Is that clearer?
