It's nice that there's a fix on TC already, but we shouldn't have to wait another week or two for the fix. Once they know they got it working, it should be hotfixed ASAP (preferably early next week). I'll stick it out either way, but it's annoying to have to keep waiting on important bug fixes.

If the bug is truely fixed, they better not wait to load it. They didn't wait to load the bug to the live servers. I have 15 customers waiting on custom weapons that I can't make with this bug. This bug it potentially costing me millions of credits. Sometimes I think the Devs load these bugs just so they can fix them in 5 days and act like heros.

Okay so we can all officially give up on our crafting skills or characters - SOE doesn't give a rat **** about us. I sent a message to Tiggs yeserday asking them if they had no concept of Customer Relations, the only response I got was:

We are aware of the issue and hope to have it fixed within the next few publishes

So in otherwords, the game breaks completely, the economy is borked, resources are not reliable and therefore cannot be sold or purchased with any reasonable sense you are getting what you paid for etc, and their response is that they will get around to it in a few months or more.

So effectively, SOE is telling us to bend over and take it, and they will just keep collecting our money. If the impact of these bugs that they KNEW about mattered to them at all, if they cared about the quality of our gameplay, they would have responded that they were looking into it and that a solution would be coming very shortly. Instead, I get the impression that at least they know about it, but they can't be bothered to respond. I doubt they even have anyone assigned to the Experimentation bug at the moment, or the Resources one.

I am suprised by one thing though: Surely this bug also affects Jedi when they craft Lightsabers? If so why isn't it receiving immediate attention? Why has it gone for 3 days now unfixed? If it affects Jedi I expect them to drop everything and deal with it right now, lest the sacred cow choose to go elsewhere...

Well, I expect to quit crafting weapons soon, and probably quit the game soon as well. I can't see continuing to play a game that has been deliberately ****ed up by the developer who then plans on dealing with the problems they created *months* later.

SOE has in fact, No Concept of Customer Relations. I guess Tiggs answered for me after all.

yep its sad, some time in the "next few publishes" is unacceptable. i have made a total of 3 guns since the publish and dont have the drive to make more untill they fix the bugs.

LMAO, in the next few publishes? Are you serious? That's unacceptable.

Mor-Dan, any information here would be greatly appreciated, because we aren't getting squat from the Customer Relations Personnel.

When I was in the Canadian Military based in Petawawa Ontario, we had an unofficial base motto, which arose from the fact that the Government regularly screwed the military over, no pay raises despite inflation, longer postings in obscure hellholes etc. The motto was:

BOHICA

Which stood for "Bend Over Here It Comes Again!" - seems like SOE has decided to apply the same priniciple to SWG Crafters. Well I am tired of taking it, and their response is the last straw. I guess I have to quit Weaponcrafting now, and close down my Cantina and end the successful business I was building up because SOE decided to **** me up the *** with their programing incompetance. I will flog the remaining items I have then drop crafting.

Crafting is the only worthwhile element in this game, so once I am done that I imagine I will also drop the game. Too bad, they might have had something here, and I really wanted to like it but they have proven again and again that they just don't know what they are doing. I could program this game better and I am not a C++ Progammer.

This is the response from my own PM to Tiggs:

Re: Crafting Bugs - No public acknowledgement?

Any bug that is posted in the daily bug thread is entered into our bug tracker and then assigned a priority.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I encourage every crafter to bug this DAILY until it is fixed. If it fills up their bug queue the devs (that actually do the patching) will see that it is a much larger problem than just a screen update bug.

I'm loggin in right now before work to bug this and will do it until it is fixed.

Okay we can play that game, lets bug this daily. Everyone. Every single weaponsmith and every single crafter. If you know someone who crafts send them an email letting them know how to post a /bug and what to say. Tell them to pass it on.

Perhaps if they start getting 5000 bugmessages per day they will wake up and consider doing something.

I highly doubt it will help mind you, I expect they will just delete the messages but who knows, maybe they do listen

I will definitely report this every single day.

If she really is serious about the next couple of publishes thing, then Im am severely dissapointed in the dev team once again.

This bug was introduced, not as part of a crafter content package, but in a publish that didnot in any way add anything to the crafting aspect of the game. The least they could do was to give this highest priority and get it fixed.... I cant believe this is true and I hope she means patches, not publishes. Imagine having to wait months for this to be fixed?

And again. The devs have the time to acknowledge BH issues and rumours about the FS village, heck Tiggs even comments on PM's? How about a public announcement saying htey are aware of the issue and working on resolving it?

But I guess the reason they dont do one of them is that they have no plans of fixing this anytime soon

Which only goes to reinforce the idea - hard as it might be to accept - that they want to break the economy and discourage crafters from playing the game. Perhaps this bug was introduced deliberately - and I mean they deliberately coded it - to achieve the goal of driving crafters from the game? Seems kind of unlikely to me, but why take such a long time to consider fixing it?

Left unfixed, these two bugs would do more to kill the ecomony than anything short of making vendors not work at all. Left in for several months they will allow crafters to sell off their current stock and take up anther profession and hopefully keep paying SOE for the privalege of being screwed like this.

Lacking a statement from SOE on the matter, I can only assume that they want to make us quit and do something else. Perhaps SWG really is moving to a drop based system more like EQ and other games. I find it hard to believe, but then I find it harder to believe that a company would deliberately let a major gamebreaking bug go live, then tell me they plan on fixing it in the next few publishes - which means up to 6 months or more yes?

i understand the problem, i am a weapon smith and a bio engineer myself. I am alsoa jedi and i really am disgusted with the notion that this is all the jedis fault. What a great idea...lets blame soe, but also the jedi for something that the jedi have NOTHING to do with.

Dont take anything I said as blaming the people who play Jedi. Nothing they have done is a factor in any way. SOE does have a major push on to make playing a Jedi more accessible, easier to accomplish and to work heavily on improving the gameplay of Jedi - presumably because they see that this will help them sell subscriptions to the game. They are doing this more or less at the expense of every other class, and as a result its natural that those other classes which feel ignored and marginalized will be resentful of Jedi - but its the class and SOE itself - not the people behind the characters - that I think people's anger is directed at.

As for the Crafting bug, well SOE is not acting responsibly. They have eliminated the gameplay enjoyment of thousands of their customers and they don't seem to care. That only aggravates the annoyance directed at the Jedi class, and if the next patch goes through and ignores this issue, then crafters are going to be even more up in arms.

This was a significant factor in my decision to Cancel ... whether they're deliberately destroying all crafting professions through dumbing-down and bugs, or negligently doing it without meaning to, either way I can't see a justification for sending them my dollars. Whether they're evil conspirators or incompetent hacks, either way, why do business with them?
