This seems like a much quicker way uses 15, 14,3 metal and 10 mineral. Steel works for them all and you get 88 exp on practice mode.

Well if you are using a macro, you would then have to double click 4 times instead of just 2 times for the barrel, and when you are making grinding a lot of items, that can add up to a lot of extra time.

Secondly, projectile rifle barrels give 94xp, so I guess even if you started with the staff, you would want to switch to the prb anyways as soon as you had the chance.

Also, the acutal time the tool uses to complete the two, i think it finishes barrel quicker than staff

I've used Metal Staff grinding for Int. Melee and Int. Techniques. I'm also using it for Int. Firearms and at that point I'll switch to Projectile Rifle Barrels. I've found Metal Staves have worked very nicely, even if it does require four extra resource clicks. Creation speed doesn't really matter that much - I use 5 crafting tools and hit a good stride so that I'm finishing number 5 when number 1 hits 3 seconds left, so there is no real 'down time'.

i went rifle barrels its steele and 5 crystall =600 xp every 48 seconds or so ,x two macros using 10 crafting tools . master np (kinda , only the real world gets in the way of the force )

jeesh weaponsmiths have the worst grinding **edit**

as a tailor i did cartridge belts for 2.5k xp per minute on a lag free planet.

Try projectile rifle barrels instead. All you need is steel, and I'm able to do almost 1k XP/minute with four high quality crafting tools.

Projectile Rifle Barrels work MUCH Faster...

I grinded 1/1/0/3 on Metal Staffs, 88 exp for 8 resource clicks... it sucked.

Now I'm doing projectile rifle barrels, 94 exp for 4 resource clicks, it sucks still, but less clicking :-)

Heh, and I thought grinding through Master Architect was BAD.... ungh, this is killing me.

Well since its almost double the exp you have to do two pistol barrels to equal the staff so the clicks are about the same then, but the staff halves the number of times you have to open a crafting tool, which really saves a lot of time in my opinion. I do use a macro and its not hard to double click 4 times.

most of us did the grind before metal staves were introduced. therefore they don't figure into our thinking much.

I did blaster pistol barrels early on, to be honest. but PRB's were much easier.
