If you have the money you should consider going advanced munitions and then grinding heavy warhead mechanisms. They give like 770 XP each, but some of the resources required are rare on some servers.

yep, heavy warheads. They need Thoranium Steel, Hydron-3 inert gas, and Skevon reactive gas among other things. lots of metal, some steel and radioactive I believe. You gain 735 EXP per unit practiced. Thoranium steel and the Skevon can be a bear to gather. Thoranium tends to be a rather rare spawn on most galaxies. Interestingly this Heavy Warhead is not used in any schematic. It seems to exist for no other reason than to provide a quick climb through weaponsmith.

Good luck in your scavenger hunt.

The "fastest" way to weaponsmith is not the best way. Your time is much better spent if you divide it between accumulating meaningful resources that will serve you when you hit master, grinding rifle barrels (or something) and actually practicing your craft to learn what resources to use to make your best weapons. If you only do the second portion of this method you will be a master weaponsmith that cannot make anything useful well. Good luck.
