Thread: How do you Experiment your weapons since the Patch?

Since last patch, the defense modifiers of players have 'kicked in'.

Before this patch, damage and speed were kings, since the quake run-n-fire-n-spam high damage specials combat style worked like a charm, as everyone got hit regularly. So every shot had to count as damage, every shot had to hit quicker than the other player's.

But now, these high damage high speed weapons only miss faster.. mainly because their accuracy mods are so low, since the experimentation went mostly to damage and speed and ham cost. Weapons were not being made with stocks or scopes.

Have you weaponsmiths noticed a change in custom weapon orders? I know that my 2 weaponsmiths were shocked when I asked them to make me rifles fully experimented for accuracy, with stocks and scopes slapped on them. They thought I was nuts. Yet those guns have become GOLD for me.

My combat chat shows incoming fire as miss miss miss miss miss hit miss miss hit miss miss miss miss hit.

My return fire on the other hand is hit hit miss hit hit hit miss miss miss miss hit hit hit hit hit.

My old E11 rifle, which had accuracy+15 at 50m, but was high damage and rather fast, became +70 @50m, but not as fast, not as high damage, higher ham cost weapon (has stock and scope, experimented for accuracy all)... butI HIT. My mind bleeds HIT. my headshots HIT. my running fire hits a heck of a lot more than the damage i take in return.

So, have you folks noticed a trend towards accurate weapons lately? Or are you still getting orders for 'olde type' high damage/speed weapons?

'Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefor, it has no boundaries.'
'But why is Fantasia dying then?'
'Because people have begun to loose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the nothing grows stronger. It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it.'
'But why?'
'Because people who have no hopes are easy to control. And whoever has control has the power'

People judge a weapon based on it's damage/speed rating and they don't read descriptions so making the weapons you describe will always be limited to custom orders. No weaponsmith will risk his reputation on the assumption that fellow players are intelligent. It's a bad bet.

One thing I do to increase accuracy on all my weps is build the basic scope with the HAM cost experimented all the way down. It essentially gives about a +10 bonus to accuracy with no HAM cost at all. (Actually the last schematic I made was +1/0/0 for the HAM cost--so almost nothing.) If I have exp points left, I put them to range. This won't work with the advanced scope since it has a much higher HAM cost that can't be experimented this low.

But to answer your question, I keep experimenting everything else for damage/sp. It's what all my customers are looking for.
