Thread: Pre-Nerf Republic Blasters...Still useable by anyone.

Just wanted to know if anyone else noticed that the RB's that were made a long long time ago when they didn't need or have certifications to use them can still be equipped and used even though your not a qualified for them.
RB's are master pistoleer and level 54 certifications......so only a master pistoleer can equip them. I have 3 pre-nerf RB's and can still equip and use them even at combat level 1 with no combat professions at all.
Are there still of lot of these out there? If so, how can you tell the difference now?

Only by equipping them.. I know this was brought up right after the CU, not sure what came of it...

Yes, I have one up for auction on Starsider that requires no combat level and no skill to use. Its ancient. Had it since the first few months of the game. I also have a manufactured one that says that it requires Master Pistoleer, but can actually be equipped by anyone. This is from right after they were made craftable.

The early Nym Carbines are similar, they can be used by anyone regardless of their CL.
