Thread: Is it really worth it? your oppinions are needed
Is it worth it? In the pre-CU world, I would say yes if you have the patience. These days? Spare yourself the grief unless you really have nothing else to do with your alt what so ever and can enjoy non-challenging crafting. If you want to make serious credits, have your alt take a bit of business (to get a vendor)and sell loot. Being a Loot Aquisition Specialist is not only very lucrative, it isenjoyable and challengingto do as well.My alt is actually my main now.
WS is about the most popular crafting profession, but due to caps, better looted weapons, and to a limited degree, ADKs, your cookie cutter weapons will compete withhundreds of thevery same.If you do not have good resources, and the dedication to keep up on resources, your weaponsmith crafter will not do much. This toon of mine is primarily support for associates now (post CU).I actually make most money on crafting and slicing enhanced/costumized weapons, master artisan items like food and vehicles, and power-ups thanmass produced basic weapons.
What ever you do Good Luck!
I have been a weaponsmith on the Chilastra server for about 3 months now (alt). I paired it with master shipwright/master merchant/4440 artisan. Shipwright, until the recent experimentation point change (10-15 in some areas) and the elite items (to boost asteroid mining, the failed experiment by SOE). I am hoping that there will be changes in the future to WS like there was with shipwright to help keep us competitive against other players, not planet loot drops and the ever commerce killing ADK's. I have some of the very best in resources as far as what has been available on this server (believe me, I looked), and it hasn't been a bad experience, even only being a 10pt WS. So depending on what you are completing your template with, WS may be a great choice, or it could be a secondary money maker.
Good Luck with whatever choice you make
