Ok...I've been able to finally get hold of a DE-10 schematic and barrel (yellow), but have been unsuccessful in getting hold of any quality krayt tissues. the only tissues i've been able to find people willing to sell are the base 30 dmg, -.3 speed tissues.
my question to you Weaponsmiths is....if i succumb to my impatience and get the DE-10 crafted with the 30 dmg, -.3 speed tissues, will I be ruining the end product significantly?
its been about 3 weeks search for the tissues and my master pistoleer skills don't exactly help me hunt krayts alone to guarantee i get the tissues...so now i'm almost ready to just get the base tissues and get my gun crafted.
*On a side note, if any of you are Master WS's on Tarquinas and are willing to craft a DE-10 for me, let me know (perhaps work out a deal if you have some better tissues). please avoid cluttering the board with possible trade talk and either PM me or send an email in game to Gil-galad
thanks for the input

You are never -ruining- a weapon by adding krayt tissue. Sure, it would be better with higher dmg tissue, but you can hardly say that increasing the damage by 30 over what it would be without any tissue is -ruining- the gun.
It really comes down to how patient you are.

i was under the impression that krayt tissue was required to even build the DE-10. by ruin, i obviously did not mean the webster's definition of the word (i.e. it would have no value), just that the extra 30-70 damage from 60-100 tissue would make the gun worthwhile.
basically, i'm comparing a DE-10 built with 30dmg tissue to be a base model of a weapon (i.e. standard pistol, standard powerhammer, etc) and a DE-10 with better tissue to be an elite version of a weapon (i.e. krayted weapon, acklay powerhammer, etc).
if the end product of a DE-10 using 30 dmg tissues is not that much different from the end product made with 50-60 dmg tissues, then i'll just have the gun made with the 30 dmg tissues and stop killing myself trying to find better tissues.

No, its absolutely not required...its just that people use them because its such a rare gun...tell you what though, the DE10 I had made with +44 -.6 tissues and my yellow barrel turned out better than a friends weapon made with yellow barrel and +90 tissues. So your barrel may make up the slack.

thanks LordMaxx. that is pretty much the response I was hoping to receive. I'm just sick of trying to either loot or buy better tissues.
Now I just need to find a respectable 12 point WS on Tarq that's willing to craft the DE-10 for a fee.

Good luck. Once you find him keep his name...they are handy to have on file.

lol...its not even just finding one that is a problem...its finding a good one that knows what they are doing. i've seen a lot of WS's that grinded to master without learning a thing about how to make a quality weapon.

I will be making my first de-10 in the next few days. I am wondering whether or not to use the krayt tissue I have already in it, or to hold out for something better. I looted 10 identical +94 -.3 tissues the other day, Will this make me a great de-10? Speed is not a factor for me, as I am a master bounty hunter, master pistoleer.

What skill do you need to be able to use one of these bad boys?
Where is the DE-10 Certification?

id say use 3 of the tissues, de-10s arent all that great un-krayted, its really better to just use a republic blaster if your not gonna krayt it. anyways good luck on the gun

94 dmg tissues are very good. I have seen some made with +60 tissue that have 450 damage without powerup.
