It seems that the first level above novice is the toughest to grind out, as I've just found out. I spent about 3 weeks getting my exp up to about 20,000 and only about 2 hours grinding the next 15,000. My solution was to make 3 (even 4) weapon making droids, get a heap, 10k plus of ferrous metal, and make metal staffs. you get about 88 exp with each, but they can be made so fast that the exp soon mounts up. Of course make them in practice mode only . I'm already a quarter the way through the second lvl after one day, having made about 15 Dlt20a rifles and assorted pistols.

I have a WS noob question....What are weapon making droids? Droids with crafting station modules? How does it speed things up?

I'm going to guess he is talking about the 'Weapon, Droid and General Item Crafting Tool'... you need to have a bunch of these to be able to string along metal staffs. I've setup 5 crafting macros with 5 tools, and I get back to the first tool 8 seconds before it's done.

Grinding metal staffs is fairly simple at least, you only need one stack of resources for it, instead of two for barrels... xp's better as well.

I just started grinding my first box of Weaponsmith tonight, it's going a little bit quicker than I was first expecting it to.

I believe its barrels . just keep making them

uhh csj. that's incorrect. projectile rifle barrels only need one resource. steel. and they give about 90 exp apiece, and you need only click to fill two ingredient stacks, easier on the wrist and fingers if you ask me over metal staffs. However this is only after you get the first box in firearms, until then, yeah metal staffs will do ya.

I had novice in mind when I made my post. I also had the blaster-pistol barrel in mind as well. There is the projectile pistol barrel at novice weaponsmith, only needs one stack of resource, but only gets you 52 xp / craft.

Metal staffs until firearms 1, then projectile rifle barrels. Or, if you dont feel like making 5-6 crafting tools, projectile pistol barrels until firearms 1. You only need 3 tools to string along at the fastest pace possible, since they finish in the tool under 10 seconds. The grind takes longer though.

does anyone have a good macro for doing a wpsmith grind?

also how long did it take you guys to make master?

Thank you so much for the grinding info, I was just about to make a similar post. I'm new to crafting and im my opinion, you can't make money or sell stuff, at least not anything useful, until you reach master. So my goal is to just hit master so I can then make stuff people want and open shop.
