So now they fixed this and added it in (in crafting scopes, and final assembly). How this works, and what it does exactly to the weapon, I don't know.

The technical term for this is "systems balancing", prior to release. After release, it's still balancing, but changes can be considered nerfs or enhancements.
Since you don't have it yet, if you cry nerf, I'll make sure your name is on the list to spew chicken feathers as your characters talk.

OK ran some test.

Death-hammer pistol #1 - Accuracy Bonus +1

Attack posture - kneeling

Killed a greater desert womp rat - no misses

Death-hammer pistol #2 - Accuracy bonus +9

Attack posture - kneeling

Attacked a variegated desert womp rat

Every single attack - Range shot using Death-hammer pistol for 0 points!!!!!!!

Tried 2x - 1st time incapped.

Switched weapons in the middle of combat with the +1 AB, and damage was produced.

Hold off on accuracy bonus, for now I guess

Tiggs posted this in the CU forum, in a CU faq:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=cudiscussiontemp&message.id=1359

How does accuracy work in the new system? It seems like the to-hit is affected more by difference in CL than it is by profession mods.

Accuracy does two things:

* Determines probability of hitting the target.
* If your accuracy is greater than defensive skills of your target, you do additional damage.

Level difference between the player and the target also has an effect on hitting and damage done.

I have been on Testcenter studying the combat system for some time, and I also have been keeping up with the Weaponsmith boards to see if I missed anything. I have noticed that no one has mentioned (if they have already, and I missed it, I am sorry) that Accuracy effects damage from a weapon. This includes the accuracy bonus a weapon has. This is the hard part... during my testing I have noticed that weapons using the same special... doing the same damage type... doing the same damage, end up doing different end numbers to the same target. These evaluations are constant and only lead to one possiblity... accuracy adding to the damage, but weapons don't list their accuracy currently. Since there are no listed accuracies on weapons, it is hard to tell if a different accuracy on a weapon actually effects the weapon... so I began testing with profession accuracy.

I began my test by taking an axe and becoming a novice brawler... I then attacked a comrade of mine with the melee hit. (I chose my test target to be a player because of the lack of damage multipliers and dividers for level difference). I then proceeded up the 2-handed line until master... then continued to get as much accuracy as possible before all my skill points ran out. Just to prove level had nothing to do with the damage being involved, I switced my template at the end to produce the same level as the insanely high accuracy one, but chose only 2-Handed as my brawler profession... all the rest were ranged leaving me with only the swordsmans accuracy mods... here were my results.

The first line indicates my target, his level, and his template. I then proceeded to use the SAME axe, with the same special, on him as I went up in accuracy. The final line of the testing was me respecing to the lowest accuracy a 2-Handed fighter could have and then picking up everything I could to get back up to level 80 without adding accuracy. As you can tell accuracy effect the end damage of your weapon. The reason I am posting this hereis that once accuracy is corrected on weapons we will be able to use these base bonuses to have the possibility of increasing the damages of our weapons. I have tested with frog weapons as well with higher level specials... but I was unable to find the accuracy bonus because it always says zero... BUT I did have two pikeman weapons used with the same stats (Massassi Lance and NSEL) that ended with the NSEL doing more damage from the same individual. This seems to be from the accuracy modifier that we cannot see. I will get back on when I can get more "certain" answers to my questions.

Thanks for the testing really interesting to know.
