Thread: DPS What good is it, if you have no Action?

My smuggler friend Lonelan pointed out to me today something that I, and possibly many others have overlooked.

What good is DPS if you have no action to attack with? I haven't had time yet to do some full out experiments with action cost the main focus, but I'd be curios to see under some tests whether action cost might be a better bet to put most or even all points of experimentation on. It might not be worth it, but its worth looking in to given the buffs on regen will be limited.

Also there isn't really a default "attack" that uses no action cost, so that is something to consider.

This is a great point. I hadn't even thought of. I was thinking that you want to put all points into Damage, as you could do more damage with fewer attacks, and hence less action cost. It something to look into.

The only drawback is that in the past, efficience experiementation hardly did anything to reduce the HAM usage.

When i was testing on the TC-EP3, even with weapons that came out at 5% across the board pre-experimentation due to limited resources that were needed to craft, I could reduce action costs by as much as 10-15 ona weapon using half my points, it seemed there was a diminishing return on experimentation however. 10-15 makes a huge impact, from when i was using the weapons.

I have been out trying me new template and action cost seems not that bad. It was last time I tested on TC though, but on live it does not seem to be that bad

Once everyone figures out buffs and food action drain prolly wont be much of a problem.

Even so, you won't be eliminating action cost like we did pre-CU... If anyone has some #'s from some test duels or something I'd be interested in seeing them .
