Thread: Did they Make Weapon Words colour Unchangeble now?
It's not only weapons, I can't change color on schematics for traps either. I made a few pistols with the new feeders to see how they come out, I usually change the color on the damage/spd in the name and it isn't changing the colors at all for schematics or prototypes. It still accepts the \# line though.

Removing the color codes to affect the crafted items final look was a very bad idea. How else to keep all your componets seperated? This is quite possibly the dumbest thing they have done so far, and quite honestly, I don't actually think they implemented it on purpose in the first place, as it was just stumbled on by some crafter, and word has spread.
To the devs, put it back in. It hurt nothing. It added more variety. And blah and blah. Could go on with reasons to put it back in for a week, and CAN'T THINK OF A SINGLE REASON FOR REMOVING IT. Just cause you can, doesn't mean you should.
A premium bazaar sale is highlighted with an asterisk. That's what 100 credits get you. You need the skill to place a premium auction, whereas anyone could add color to what they made. If anyone can do it, and those not doing it were lazy, then they have no excuse for complaining that a 'lack of' color was affecting their sales. THIS IS NO REASON TO remove colorization from crafted items.
Howdy;
One reason - tho I never complained about it - just didn't use color because of it. You cannot See if a weapon has a power up installed when Color is used. Whatever color is used in title over-rides the PuP Installed highlight. Doesn't really matter to me I reckon. Unless color highlight defeats the design color I will never use it.
Bye For Now, Broken Drum
Aye, yet more utter stupidity from the guys at SoE. Lets spend time, money and human resources on un0ciding the coloring ability to crafted items, and leave all those other farking bugs in there.
Atta boys!
Now, as for the color coding helping to seperate components, what I do is this:
I add a prefix to the beginning of the component, such as (A)ABPB, and then, when the (A)'s get low, I do a run of (B)ABPB's.
Anytime I need to load multiple crates of ABPB's into one of my factories I know all the crates with a prefix of (A) have the same serial number.

You can(could) have an interesting colour scheme while still retaining at-a-glance powerup status indication. I named my weapons like this:
*\#008CE0\Den\#F48B10\Tec\#FFFFFF\ Laser Carbine Mk IV
The asterisk at the start of the name was uncoloured and would light up yellow when a powerup was attached. Easy peasy.
Anyhow, there's a thread on this issue here:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=831046
Help get the Devs' attention on this issue; this change sucks for all crafters.
Aye, my weapons were labeled thusly:
Lasre Rifle by \#000000\Az'
That way only my name was in black, and the rest of the item was highlighted when p-upped.
