Thread: If you have a respec token left, respec to CL80 prior to the conversion
It has already been stated that a master crafter (whatever that is.) will be classified as a lvl 80 respec
My "guess" is that 2 masteries will = lvl 80 respec. (Jedi will be exception)
Or that they will simply base your respec off exp points in general... and making some type of conversion simmiliar to the FS village for crafting exp. So that a master crafter = a master combat.
This will help both dbl master crafters and your Master Combat/ Master Crafter types

How does respec work?
When an existing player logs in they will get a Profession selection window. They MUST select a new profession.
- If they chose Trader or Entertainer then they will get all the skills
- If they chose any thing else they will be advanced to the exact COMBAT LEVEL they were before NPE went live.
A "Character Respec Device" will be created in every characters inventory with 10 charges. Examining it will show the combat level the respec item will be set to when you use it, this is the level they will be set to when they use the respec device if they select one of the 7 combat professions. After using the device 10 times it will delete itself.
I appreciate I didn't make that clear before, sorry for any confusion.
I guess it's also possible that the reason this was deleted so quickly is because it was wrong. Personally though, I'd rather be safe than sorry and I'll be respeccing to CL80.

I think this makes sense. This will give you a respec token with 10 charges atyour expercience (CL)lvl with the conversion for crafters in place. Then it would be set so that your lvl in game does not effect the respec.
This would avoid the Respec problem of LVL 80 BH--- LVL 1 crafter --- LVL 1 BH.

I agree completely that that makes sense. However, although it doesn't specifically state so, I infer from it that anyone that's currently a CL1 Crafter/Merchant would also end up as CL1 in the new system.
Reason being: "If they chose any thing else they will be advanced to the exact COMBAT LEVEL they were before NPE went live."
So if you pick Spy for example, then you start off with the "exact COMBAT LEVEL you are before", i.e. CL1.
It seems highly unlikely to me therefore, that simply by picking Trader instead, it will be gracious enough to grant you CL80 status on your 10 charge respec token.
Again though, maybe the reason Tiggs' post was pulled was because it failed to mention any conversion of CL based on skill points used by crafters or similar. I'm still standing by my "better safe than sorry" attitude though

What if you are CL 80 and want to try out trader during converson? You go down to CL1 Master Trader, you still have 9 respecs left, and if you try out BH will you "respec" to CL1? That doesn't sound right. I think you should respec to lvl 80 combat. Same goes if you are a cl1 and you respec to trader, you should be able to then respec to lvl80 combat. What is the point of a respec if you are stuck at lvl1?
The linked post at the top says to me that it's your CL in the existing system that matters, and that your respec token in the new system is set to whatever CL you were at the point of conversion. Thus, any time you use your respec token, you'll be reset to that CL.
I also infer from that that if you converted over at CL54 to BH, ground up to CL80/90 in the new system, and then respecced to Officer, you'd be back to CL54 again.
correct
I was master ws de art.. FS crafting mastery
Started as trader
did respec to test = lvl 1 noob for combat
Hope this is bug

so, in plain english....
If I am CL80 - pre-NGE....and then /respec to a Trader (post-NGE)
.....I can then use an additional /respec to Jedi ....and I will be @ CL80?
