I have a wee shop set up outside Mos Esiley and enjoy having newbies walking up and ill coax them into buying my almost master made weapons, It is fun to help people and know you have lots of freinds

It IS NOT fun to have to click the resources in for endless hours with projectile barrels, there is no satisfaction in it.

So why not make it so components give barley any xp, and weapons give like 10 times what they used to, It would make you want to be a WS before master, instead of a "Projectile-barrel-Specilist" the whole way up.

my 2 cents

I forked out money for heavy warhead resources and made those. It is a long grind but its fun now that I am master. There is still a lot of work to do with finding resources and rare loot. Right now my ranged weapons are terrible but my melee weapons are decent.

Barrels are boring. Making Heavy Warheads is the way to go

I agree i am getting weaponsmith on a new character on sunrunner and it takes so so long, there is no good way to get the experience and no even wants your weapons because they are not as good as a master(not that i expect them to be), but the grind is so long easily more that any other profession. Its hard to get money for extractors when no one will buy anything from you.

I agree.

So don't do it......

Go to a university, and talk to the Contractor guy, and do the crafting quests.

1. You'll be producing *full* weapons for him, so you'll get XP for all the components. *and* the full weapon.

2. You'll have a variety of things to craft.

3. You don't need to make a high quality weapon.

4. You get cash for your time, so you're not just grinding at a loss.

Also, for all those people who advocate the Heavy Warhead:

Take a look at the Light Lightening Cannon. 520xp per gun. Not counting the Subcomponents. Sure, you gotta do a factory run of Power Handlers first. But you don't need the highly specific resources that you do for the Heavy Warhead.

Look at rifles at lower boxes, even.

Firearms 1: DLT20 Rifle = 122xp (plus subcomponents)

Firearms 2: Tuskan= 112xp

Firearms 3:Scatter Pistol= 196xp

Firearms 4: Heavy Particle Beam Cannon/Lightening Beam Cannon= 550xp

I think this is a great suggestion! Also, I think it would help to improve the amount of experience gained from other players using your weapons. As a young crafter I worked my way up from selling 500 credit crafting kits, to 750 credit rein. combat staffs, and on up the chain. I'm always dissapointed to hear someone sitting out, grinding away, complaining about having to click the mouse so many times. Play the game, and enjoy the skills in their novice fields,is my suggestion.

They could greatly reduce, if not completely eliminate grinding by giving out some worthwhile usage XP. I sold many, many weapons when I was just a seven point smith. I made low cost weapons for other new players. I actually saw myself get like ONE xp point from usage from time to time. A guildmate gave me some skevon, hydron-3 and thoranium and I finally finished the grind.

Weaponsmith should get more XP from weapons AND get way more usage XP as well. Maybe then we could put some of this grinding crap behind us.

I do like the Quest items mentioned about. I had no idea that there was anything like that for weaponsmith XP in the game. Does this work for other crafting professions as well?
