Thread: Munitions....What is hot? What is not?

My question has to do with Munitions in general.

What are big sellers and about how much to you sell them for?

I have personally made C12s with 2.5 speed and sell them for 35k a crate, but that is all I have made for munitions. What about the following:

Cryoban
Glop
C22s
Thermal Dets
Imperial Dets

Are there any issues with these? Are they worth making for Commandos?

What about Mines....I think I recall that one of them is actually less costly to produce and better damage then the others. Which one?

Thanks for any help you can give me. And if you think my questions are dumb..../shrug

I sell c-22 to novice commandos to grind to thermals, nubs want Imps for some reason but thermals do more damage because of medium piercing, i have imps up and they sell but as soon as they test it they shift to thermals. Don't make protons unless its special order cuz Master Commando takes way to much SP for peeps to keep long. C-12 sells constantly and should be your staple. As for pricing, i dunno why everyone seems to think a case of grenades should cost less than a good t-21. Without doin the calcs i am sure i can make 30-40 VKs with the same or less resources, get em sliced, then sell em on the bazar for 6k and make 150k on em and have leftovers. Why would i charge 1-2k/nade when i can make VKs for 3x the profit? I know the economy is inflated but at 35k a crate there is not much profit left when you figure in resource costs and factory time. Price your time accordingly and with the quality of your product. Unless you get your resources extremly cheap Ican't see charging less than 2k/nade for anything.

Good Luck

Whew, just finishing up my first batch of Imp Dets and let me say that I don't think I'll be doing this much longer lol. To make a full run I need 100k of high OQ/SR steel. I say that my high OQ resources are better used on ranged weapons and the SR resources on melee weapons. I don't know, I get a not-so-great feeling about making weapons that are strictly being used for someone to grind FS with.

Same here. I use mid to above average quality metals on grenades I'll sell on my vendor. I do go the extra mile and use better resources for custom orders as they're willing to wait the time needed.

c12's are selling constantly...thats the FS thingand it makes me money so oh well.

if you were going to expand out of just c12's i would go with thermals and imperial detonators, this is what the actual commandos ask for most. on ahazi, there seems to be less demand for c22's but they will sell as well.

protons, cryobans and glops sit on my vendors for quite awhile.

as for the mines, truth is i've only made them for my guild's bases, i've never tried to sell them. i do love watching the explosions though

I got a custom order last week for 700 proton grenades. Took about a week to get all of them made, but the payoff was well worth the time.

And someone cleaned out my vendors of all 25 crates of C22's I had stocked.

It really irks me when someone says they are having a problem making gernadesbecausethey arebeing used in the FS grind. Question what isnt being used in the FS grind. Everyone you run into is grinding FS skills. They are using armor, weapons, buffs, food, entertainment for the grind. Are people complaining about that? Are you going to stop selling VKs because someone is using them to grind. This whole game is a grind. Maybe you should not make weapons because someone is using them to kill the poor little quenkers. Do you really care how someone is using the weapons you make?

Sorry for the vent. I just hate it when one thing gets singled out as something others see as wrong.

Not sure what a C22 would sell for on Intrepid. I'm selling C12's for 25K a crate and they don't move too fast. I'm thinking its time to quit wasting my time and resources on Grenades as a whole.

I've been selling a lot of Thermals and Imp Dets myself. And this is on the Test Center, currently building the stuff for two special orders and normal stock.

The only protons i make are namely for Rocket Launchers, and with that i just build the proton parts with junk resources and no experimentation same with assembling the protons no experimentation. But then I'll use Adv. Feed Mechs, Adv. Blaster Power Handlers and Adv. Scopes (max experimentation on range). Which results in a fairly accurate Rocket Launcher, with an average of only one miss per 34 shots with a master commando)

In best case a thermal does about the same damage as an imp detonator. In worst case it does less damage than imp detonators.

Thermals are 1800+ max dam AP2, Imp detonators 2200+ AP1. But you only get the AP > AR bonus if target has armor. I am not sure that none armored creatures but with blast resists is counted as armored or not. If it do count as armored thermals will give you a little bit higher damage (but of course it depends onhow good the thermalsand Imp detonators are. It is usually easier to get better resources for imp detonators since it only take steel). Imp detonators also have higher min damage than thermals.

Never ever use Thermals on creatures that are vulnerable to blast damage. You will then get no AP bonus at all. But I think most "grind-friendly" creatures have blast resists.

Whats a Thermal Grenade worth? I know prices vary from server to server but there must be an average price.

Thanks, Buzz
