I have discovered that my factories can only have 69 crates in their output hopper.
Crates of 25 x 69 =1725 items.
I cant remember what rating my factories were but this seems to ring a bell.
Anyway can anyone confirm that it is possible to have 2500 item output hopper (100 x 25).
Is it just a matter of making the factories better, with higher quality resources/components?
As I cranked up a gear productionwise I really felt the impact of6 factories simultaneously hitting the item limit wall.
I feel a little ripped off with the factories I paid for and I really should have paid more attention to the factory stats.
The annoying thing about the output hopper limit is that you get an email sating there is a bug with the factory (and to submit it it as such via /bug)and you also lose the matierals for one item so you need to run around to find the resources you used so that your run of 1000 grenade components is not messed up.

Yea its a bug.
Best work around I can think of at the moment, is to move the first run into the input hopper.
Or you can just move it off into packs and store them on a vendor until your ready. And yea I know vendors aren't made to store things, but until the devs address the storage issue. I'm going to use what is available to me to keep and sort all the weapon components i keep on hand for making my weapons.

I experienced this bug the most while making powerups... in worst cases I hit the "full output hopper" with 30 crates there... but then, after emptying and making a new run, it would make up to 50 etc. so totally random BS

I have not tested the 4 new factories that an understanding architect made for me, but he has expremented on the output hopper size and managed 2500 easly, tho with high quality materials. I think he managed 3300 on a test one, i'll let you know if thesehigher capacity output hopper factories no longer have the problem.
As a side note, what is the largest ctrae size in the game? I have only encountered crates of 25 and 10 while weaponsmithing.

One hasn't bugged, yet, but the other 2 do => one @85 and one @64
It really sucks, because of his bug I also lost 1mil in credits due to sales not being seen as sales, but as buys!!! And ofcourse SOE won't do a thing about it, they just copy and paste some standard bullsh*t over and over gain

Armor layers come out in crates of 100, segments in crates of 50

This is very useful information.
*makes note to clear the output hoppers of excess components*

I think the bug is more complex than just output hopper size. I've been emptying output hoppers three times a day, including early morning, to try to work around this bug. Recently, I started a full run of 1000 powerups. The hopper never held more than 20 crates during the run but the factory still shut down with8 crates in the hopper after only 84 crates were produced.
Another factory similarly stopped after 87 crates were produced even though only12 crates were in the hopper when the factory shut down. I'm sure there were more than 12 crates in the output hopper at times during the run. I then used this factory to produce four crates of DX2s successfully then tried to make a full run of ABPHs. The factory shut down after four crates of ABPHs so I quit using the factory until we had a server reset.
Thebest theory so far is that output hopper size decreases by one half each time the factory is started but I'm not sure my factories are behaving exactly this way. Maybe emptying the hopper during the run decreases max hopper size too. Maybe the factory has some limit on total items produced in a factory run unrelated to output hopper size. I have never been able to max out a powerup run no matter how compulsively I empty the hopper during the run.
What happens to a factory run that is started just before a server reset? I've been logging in just before server reset time to empty hoppers. When I see the server shut down messages I start factory runs on bugged factories, butI don't start factory runs on factories that have decremented to 0 size output hoppers - I have to wait until after the server reset for them to work again. My factories seem to behave as if a server reset during the factory run restores hopper size.
Is there any way to track server resets? I usually leave my toon afk surveying by my factories and check in before server reset time to see if we will have a server reset that day. Reset days aren't very predictable. There has been a server reset every Tuesday. Most weeks we have server resets on Thursdays and Saturdays too and sometimes Mondays. One week we had a server reset on Tuesday then Friday and no more until Tuesday. Going from Friday until Tuesday without a reset shut down almost all my factories. This week we've had resets Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Server reset isn't always the exact same time now. Sometimes the server reset is up to one hour later than usual. I usually log off at server reset time to go to real life work and don't always know if we had a late server reset. Does anyone know a way to track server resets? I don't use severely decremented factories until I'm sure there has been a server reset. It would also be useful to know of pending resets so I could plan factory runs. I'd make a bunch of short runs of things if I knew a server reset was about to restore the hopper size. SWG posts someinformation about servermaintenance on the log in screen but not all server resets are listed there. Is there some place where all server resets are listed?

One other bug I have noticed with factories, that can be very annoying is the one where you start the factory with the resources for a run of components or weapons and you have forgottento add one of the requirments to the input hopper. What happens when the factory is started is that you get a email msg saying the factory ran out ofthe missingmaterial not added to the factory by mistake. This email is sent 200secs (or what ever time the item takes to be created) to be sent. You go to the factory and it has eaten one lot of each of the required materails/components in the factory, but nothing is produced.
If the run is for krayt PH's then itsquite annoying. Even for normal runs its annoying.
