No a wookiee artisan would make a crappy bowcaster since it takes WS experiment points to experiment on it.
They don't sell well because
1. Only wookiees have certs for it
2. It has no AP thus riflemen use the better rifles instead (laser/T21), it's only useful to a novice wookiee rifleman.
It does have the advantage of being able to use both krayt and Gorax shards/spider fangs to enhance it. My current stats are 155-277 5.6 on Ahazi but haven't made any in quite some time and may be able to get a few more points from it. Add base tissue and bones and probably add another 70+ to the max damage.

i know u said it wasnt a call out to buy, but i know Jamiser makes some decent ones, sometimes?

12pt MWS Wookiee here. I've made bowcasters with dmg ranging from 150-320ish using looted components for the adv power handlers, the projectile feed mechanism, and the barrel.

As a Wookiee player myself, I absolutely love my bowcaster. However, I'm not a weaponsmith at all and so it's not as grand as I'd like it to be. This isn't a purchase request or anything like that, just curious as to what the stats on a master weaponsmith crafted bowcaster would be. Mine, crafted by me, is 7.4 AS, 115-176 damage and since it wouldn't have mattered much anyway, I didn't experiment on it with the 1 point I had. I know they can be made a lot better than that in the right hands.

The last batch I made were 5.2 169-301 unenhanced or 169-321 using the Nym's projectile feed enhancements (High Velocity Feed Mechs). Because they have no armor piercing it's usually not worth putting krayt or gorax enhancements in them. An exception might be a wookiee who is primarily a crafter and has few combat skills or a wook who wants to use the bowcaster for the first couple of boxes of rifles.

I've been producing Bowcasters lately with 169-300 damage and 5.3 speed. Did make a novelty Bowcasterthat incorporated both a krayt tissue and a looted feed mech enhancement. Ended up being 169-350.Got a 34% slice, unfortunately for speed,which lowered that to 3.3. Would make a good grinding rifle for a Novice RifleWookiee.

hmmm best 1 i made i tossed +60 tissues and a +36 fang for 397 ish max got a dmg slice came out around 480 ish, spd 4.8 , if only it had ap2..sigh..sold it quite a long while back

made one out of boredom the other day, wanted to hold out until C.U. but....

Not too bad, got a speed slice and usedonly AdvancedBlaster Power Handlers wish I had some Krayt tissues so I can make a better one. The jedi's were campin' the Graveyard the past few nights
