Did a factory run of rocket launchers for the first time this weekend. I noticed they were coming out in crates of 7, instead of 25. Is this standard, or did my factory just do something weird? Thanks.

All charged heavy weaponry comes out in crates of 7.
Why 7? Ask SOE. I mean, meds come in crates of 50, weapons 25, powerups 10... it's as if there's no rhyme or reason to the madness. =)

You'd think SOE would have RL's come out at least in crates of 10...7 is just such a weird number.
Thanks for the replies.

Yes, I too find it odd that crates come in different sizes of 7, 10, 25, and 50. I would venture to guess that the reason behind it is that it has to do with "choices". This is the one thing that devs have relayed to us that we must make choices. We have finite storage and what we produce and how many we produce we must make choices.
With Rocket Launchers, they need 8 Projectile Feed Mechanisms. So if we did a full run of 1000 PFM's this would be enough to make 125 Rocket Launchers - max. If they came in crates of 25 that would be 5 crates. By limiting them to 7 per crate we end up with 17 crates plus one partial crate (18 inventory space total needed). I believe this was by design tohave us make choices.
The other charged launchers need 5 Blaster Power Handlers each, so a full run of 1000 BPH's limits us 200 launchers, if they came in crates of 25 that would be 8 crates, but alas, at 7 per crate it will come to 28 crates plus one partial crate (29 Inventory space).
I don't think we'll ever see the days of 1000 item crates, but if anything, I sure would like to see 50 crates across the board for everyone. It's not a matter a choices, but more a matter of inventory space & storage. Considering we are quite a resource intensive profession, inventory space comes at premium. 50 crates would, IMHO, drastically help everyone with storage.

I've always thought "Crate" size was a function of the perceived "Mass" of the items created.
It seems to make since in some items then I look at power-ups and wonder what their perceived mass would be?

that would make sense...except structure components can be crated up to 100....and you'd think a wall would weigh more than a rocket launcher...devs confuzzle me with their logic

Walls only crate to 10, but whatever
Tho instead of making crates go to 50 they increase inventory space in the next patch.
Every single problem have a complicated solution by SoE...
Well, increasing inventory limits benefits everyone, whereas increasing crate sizes really only benefits crafters. Personally, if I had to choose between the two, I'd pick more inventory space over larger crates.

Ick, who would take an order of 125 Rocket launchers
