I need help!!

My brain has been fried twice over trying to think of the best way to go about this....

I'm a Master Shipwright/Artisan and soon to be Weaponsmith.

How do you guys separate your high end resources from your low end resources?

Do you keep them separated according to Overall Quality, resource type, or separated by individiual stats like MA,SR,DR,UT,PE, etc?

Also where is the most convenient place you store these items? Do you keep them all inside crafting stations? Homes, or is there something else you consider a more convenient way to store them and retrieve them quickly for when you need to craft?

Please help, thanks.

I store my resources according to the type, steel with steel and copper with copper and so on. I use the cabinets that hold 50 items, and have the best in my large work house with me and the rest in 4 small houses near it. I find it to be the best way to sort my stuff, I'm MWS and M doc.

I'll explain what he means. When you become a long time WS all of your resources are of high quality so you dont have a problem seperating them out. I do reccomend knowing the names of some of your very top resources.

i have a bag on the wall for each type of metal, another bag for ore, another for chems, another bag for abph, and a cabinet i put a few odds and ends in eg an acklay bone, or a schem i am about to need

I have a lovely assistant in the room who holds bags of loot stuff, my weaponsmith uniform, crated components etc - she never complains, isnt muchof a looker, and can hold copious amounts of gear.

She also comes with the added benefit of allowing me to accept offers made to my main vendor on the other side of the galaxy....

what a girl.....

and even with all that organisation - it takes forever to get ready to actually make something....

I have 3 houses just for resources storage

1 - Minerals

2 - Chemicals

3 - Flora

I also have a AS crafting house, Medical Crafting House, and a WS crafting house(titled generic crafting atm)

Basically the way it works for me is that I have all my resources in backpacks in their respective houses. I try to keep them well organized but they aren't always lol. Basiclaly one backpack for each specific resource. Like in my Minerals house I have a backpack specifically for my Irov Polysteel copper, I have another for my Quadofi polysteel copper, etc.... When you get into it a bit you'll know your resources by names though I put the full name on each pack. I also have a generic backpack setup that I can just dump stuff in to organize later or if I have very little of it so that it doesn't warrant it's own pack(less than 100k units).

In the crafting house I have containers that typically store key commonly used components(ie, barrels, scopes, stocks, etc...) I only keep one crate of each component in my house and I keep schematics to each component in my datapad so when I need more I can make a run of 25 or so. krayt tissues and other looted components are typically stored in my factories. I will normally make my ABPH's with the krayt tissues and label them with the original tissue stats and leave them in output hopper in the factory, thenI can simply pull them out when I'm ready for them and don't have to wait for them to craft.

This clearly isn't the only way to organize an it will also depend on how much stuff you need to store, and how many lots you have available. I have tons of lots so I have the ability to store what I need mostly in houses and factories(factories hold more per lot but also cost more to maintain). People who are more limited on lots often use vendors for storage. I always found it was a hassle for me to store stuff on my vendors cause I always wanted to put large amounts in each pack and then I had to shuffle around for inventory space when I wanted to pull something off the vendor.

yeah, what was said above re: low-end resources. I don't have anything resembling low-end resources.

I keep separated by type (steel, iron, copper...gases/chemicals). my problem is having the space to store it in: 4 houses 5 factories all maxed out. 3 secret vendors with backpacks of goods. loots, more resources. I keep adding more...hehe I can't pass up a nice resource and definately not pass-up a choice spawn.

Freaking krayt tissue..oi...converting the great stuff to ABPHs and storing for later and using the good stuff now...omg i was inventoried out and considered deleting a set of 7 base tissues earlier tonight LOL at self...6 weeks ago krayt was the only thing really missing from my repetoir

I find it best to keep my most used resources in the Input hopper of my crafting station. Only 1 item in the house and it holds 100. Nice little space saver.

I have bags for steel/copper/iron/alum/misc, i keep frequently used/high quality stuff in there and use a vendor right next to em for lower stuff.

If you have 160k put the 100k in the bank until you need it. My house/vendors/bag contents love to disappear. Don't trust factories either I have heard about losing stuff that way on this board. Sometimes stuff doesn't reappear the next day (I miss my cute vendor). I use Access database tables and queries to find my stuff. Don't know how anyone can be a weaponsmith without a 2nd computer. The metal is in bags by type in my workshop with the crafting station because you can name bags not furniture. The gas, crystal, ore, etc bags are in another warehouse closeby, no room and not used as often. You must have a vendor in your workshop. Just to use your weaponsmith sash with the extra points requires taking off your backpack and I got tired of storing my parts in the factoryand put those on the vendor too. It can take an hour figuring out what to use and finding it to make 2 weapons. I control how much is made by the metal in the input hopper of the factory and don't have to put it away if I calculate it. But it does make great emergency storage which you always seem to need. Your factories must be as class as possible to your workshop. You really burn up shoe leather. The vendors arein the city mall. It cost a lot to enter my top secret workshop.

I keep them in my 4 factories - Ferrous Metals and Ores, Chemicals and Gases, Non-Ferrous Metals, Loot Components.

To cull my resources I use JnF's tool, which I am now the newest architect for, from the SWGCraft site.

I am in the same boat as you Profession wise. My main toon is a Master Weaponsmith and my alternate is Master Artisan/Master ShipWright/Master Merchant.

I also use my vendors to some extent for lower end resources I do not mind selling (if someone really feels like paying the price I list them at) or losing thru a vendor hiccup.
