Thread: One thing I just dont understand....

weaponsmith, armorsmith and to a degree chef will be pointless professions.
since all professions across the board have basic and advanced weapons, i image the code behind every weapon is like basic.dps and adv.dps
if you look at a T21 and a de10, same dps, all advanced have same dps give or take a few points and same for basic.
due to this combat is "balanced" but because everyone is exactly the same. Only your level and targets level realitive to yours defines if you win or lose, nothing else.
Due to this combat will soon be boring too, especially to those used to the current system.
but I suppose this revamp isnt for us. its for new influx of players, out with old and in with new, just business right?

What happened to Rifles being high damage slow firing and pistols being low damage fast firing?
Everything they explained to us a year ago they have just scrapped and I dont see a better system in it's place, at all.

scrapping all that and making all weapons the same dmg per second (DPS) is their way of balancing, however this means your professions doesnt matter, everyone does same dmg.
basically they have dumbed down the entire game

Why cant the Devs work out the best stats available for a weapon and work backwards?
Best resourses, best enhancements, best slice = best weapon (keep the actual figures to themselves tho, we dont want the hard data released to us
)
Then take away the data for the slice, then the enhancement and we are left with a weapon that we can produce with the best resourses, stats reduce obviously with lesser stat resourses.
All they have to do then is make sure they dont start adding even better enhancements or resourses that would throw off their calculations.
Seriously, how hard is that?
So far, from what I've seen and read mainly from the hard work by Lotok, this new system is going to be pants and completly take the fun out of a brilliant profession I have dedicated the whole of my SWG time too, which is over 2 years now after being a weaponsmith in beta.
