I just posted a discussion on the Rifleman forum, comparing various slicing and PUP plans for a crafted Trandoshan Hunter's Rifle that I just bought from Dy-nod. It's a good general discussion of the merits of various slicing/PUP schemes that I hope to generate some useful discussion. The post would have been just as appropriate (perhaps more so) in this forum, and I would very much like to get some input from you all, but I don't want to have two threads running simultaneously in two different forums for the sake of continuity of discussion, so let me just direct you to this link. If you don't follow the rifleman forum, you may want to check the "E-mail me if somebody replies to this" option when you submit your message, if you want to stay updated with the conversation.
That post is an update to a very long discussion that has been running for several days (the topic has sort of mutated into the current topic that I'd like you all to check out), but if you just start reading at the post that this link directs you to, you can skip all the background discussion if you want--the previous discussion is largely irrelevant to the topic at hand.
