I crafted a couple of HLRs this afternoon.. I used 181 dmg power cells in my first attempt and I ended up with a HLR w/ 82 sac and 457-1130 dmg and 2.61 speed (elemental was 40). The funny thing is.. as I was on 91% the damage read 1130... when I used another point the damage persisted at 1130 even though I hit 96% or whatever. I thought I would get into the 1140s possibly or even hit near the cap at 1150.
I crafted a 2nd HLR... I used 3 points initially in efficiency... no update (sound familiar?)... SAC still read 93. I used 8 points in my damage... no change yet again. I used my last point in damage... 94% was attained and no change. The HLR pops out w/ 82 SAC/310-889 dmg/44 elemental/2.69 speed. The only thing I could think of is if I accidentally used my points for elemental, but I know I didn't do that. If I did.. I would have observed a much higher value than 44 especially since I got an amazing.
What in the world is going on here now?

I should also add that on the 2nd HLR... I received a reading on my screen that readthat my ATTACK COST was 63.... and the max range is 82. I only put THREE points into attack cost... *sigh*

I am not sure, but it is possible that you accidentally experimented on elemental. You only get about 1 point elemental damage per experimentation point, so if you put in three and got an amazing on the last point, that would have given you an even 4 points of extra elemental damage. Yeah, it sucks, but that is the way it works

Right but I KNOW I put it into damage and efficiency. Despite this, what gives with the 1130 not moving up after I used 1 -2 points on damage? I didn't see the cap sign anywhere.

Sometimes when you are at the last point the max dam has actually gotten up as far as your resources and enhancers will allow you and only min dam will improve upon futher experimentation.
You can allways check what your rifle should have ended up with for max damage by adding the enhancers damage to your unenhanced weapons stats.
But yeah seems it should have been

Oh and 1130 sounds okay for those cells in a HLR if its any consolation

Thanks... I need to be more observant of the changes as I only look at the max damage when I'm crafting...
