Thread: Repair totally flawed
And after that I took contact with a master weaponsmith and he told me that he had failed with 4 repairs since the major patch and there is no repair mods or whatever in the weaponsmith or the other crafter trees.
But I read that skilled crafters should get bonuses for repairs of items within their field.
So how does this work? is it bugged or have soe forgot about it?
And it also says that items with low hitpoints is now unrepairable. How low is "LOW"? how low can the item be until it is to late for a repair?
I don't think repair is flawed
I do think it is a bad idea to repair anyone else's weapon and that giving crafters bonuses in their speciality is, while realistic, likely to create massive headaches for them
Coming back to this thread with a stray thought
For weaponsmiths part of the problem with weapon repair is the amount of trust it involves. If i give you a 5 million Krayt scatter on 150/900 and it breaks how do you feel about what you have to tell me?
So here's the suggestion
Usingthe code for the secure trade window allow a similar transaction window for repair. Ideally the window would show repair tool quality and weaponsmith repair skill on the other and a place to put the weapon without actually parting company with it as well as a place to offer payment
When the repair is made a 10 second hourglass timer could show (just to build the suspense) maybe a graphic with a pointer hovering between disaster and minor blemishes
I think that would be much better than the current system which gives a huge burden of trust on the weaponsmith or the frustration of having to turn down desperate customers
I've only dabbled in WSing so I'll let the community take this further if it appeals to you ![]()

I think they should just use the EQ system, show failure/success messages in groupchat. Group with customer, repair weapon, entire group sees "Ace repaired Scout Blaster with minor blemishes."
SOE thoroughly encourages class interdependency, so I believe they will always force crafters into these positions with repairing. No way to get us around that.
That said, I have noticed a significant difference with repairing weapons. Out of all the weapons I have repaired since the last major publish, not a single one broke. Of course, I annihilated some down to 500 max condition, but that was as bad as it got. Have yet to break a single gun or get it down to the point of being unusable. So, go to your Weaponsmiths for repairs (make sure they have a Weaponsmith tag) and try tobe polite.Just bear in mind, they make guns, they have no reason to steal yours, so give them a break.
