It has no stats in /examine, therefore it would have no effect on any non-lightsaber weapons even if it went into an optional slot, which it does not. Same deal as the force crystal things.

It says it is a melee component when you do an 'examine' on a dragon pearl dropped by a Krayte. Has any weaponsmith attempted to use one in a sword, pike, or vk? It may work...... if it does this may be what all of us melee'rs are looking for. And you WS will have a pretty penny in pocket for hooking up some test runs

It's a lightsaber component, according to some list of stuff you get when you decrypt the game files.
