Thread: Base HAM Question
I was asked this question and wanted to double check my answer. Is baseHAM for a given weapon fixed or is it a function of the initial combine? For example, is the HAM damage I get for a laser rifle always going to start out at a given spread (excluding stock, scope, etc)without regard to the power handlers, barrels and metals used?
If it can vary on the intial combine, what can I do to reduce it? I never seem to be able to reduce it much with experimentation points when I have some left over. By reducing it much, I mean reduce it to a level that buyers are very satisfied that I did much with my experimentation points.
It seems to be a fixed value regardless of resources and components; HAM on scout blasters didn't change between FA1 and master.
Efficiency experimentation is pretty much useless since it'll only decrease by 1 or 2 for each point used. It had a much larger effect in beta and the tradeoff between HAM and damage experimentation was actually worthwhile for people who wanted lower HAM weapons.
All stats, including HAM, on the initial combine are determined by the success of the combine (almost always "great") and resources quality. 0 quality resources will start you out at 0% experimentation, 1000 quality resources will start you at 30%.
However, for any given schematic the same amount of experimentation goodness means the same thing.
