Thread: Advice re Scythe requirements and fair price

Hi all,
im not a weaponsmith, but im trying to pull together all the ingredient necesssary for a master weaponsmith to make me a scythe. Im posting to check what more I need - and also to ask you if you feel my proposal for payment for the weaponsmith's services is fair...
what Ice got so far...
1 x scythe schematic
2 x 6 geo sword cores with identical serial numbers (1 has a tellow name, but the serial is the same, so I hope its going to work)
3 At least 1 k of each of Phrik alu, carbonite steel and nuetronium steel
Now, Im think, Ive read the scythe facts, and im stumped - what more do I need to mkae the WS's life easier?
finally- -as payment - Ive a tenloss DXR6 schem that Im thinkingof offering for payment for the weaposmith's services in putting it together - If I buy/ collect all the ingredients, Im hoping this is a good deal - vut I'd appreciate your thoughts...

any decent weaponsmith would already have the metals available to them and prolly with better stats than what you are bringing .... Personally I would not make a weapon with materials provided by someone else unless thier materials are better than mine which is VERY unlikely. The reason being ... sunstandard materials = substandard weapon ... no way my name is going on that... but it is really is something you would need discuss with a WS on your server ... perhaps try your server's trade forum instead of this one.

thanks, I appreciate your point, - Im aware of the stat requirements and Im trying to find the best I can - but does anyone know if I need anything else? - what ingredients do I need (specifically any power cubes or wotnot) to give to the weaponsmith?

Howdy;
Scythe (once print is gotten) only requires 2 Geonosian Sword Cores. The Weapon Smith should have the rest and if up to snuff will probably have better than you could provide. I am still using some Phrik Alu from last year for these things, since nothing better has spawned since. A recent spawn of Carb Steel was nice tho (954 shock).
As to price, I get some folks happy and some folks mad, but I charge 'Max Going Rate' for Specialty Items, dependent on weapon type. For the Scyte that would be in the neighborhood of $10K since the hand weapons are always cheaper to make.. If it was a ranged weapon it would have been $15K.
Now you know why I am the poorest weapon smith in the galaxy, heh heh. But the way I see it, the folks who brought you the prints and special goodies did all the work. Just doesn't feel right that I should gain all that much from Their Efforts.
Those who are charging hundreds of credits are looking from the other side. It IS a fact that these only make a couple of weapons, so I reckon the feeling is strike while the iron is hot. But besides the fact that I am totally against making weapons too expensive to use, one needs to think about the user as well.They now have thislimited edition weapon, and They cannot get another either, whereas the weapon smith will probably come across another sooner or later. <nuff said>.

To answer your question. Power cubes(yellow is the best but hard to get)of at least 3 or more Identical ser. Number, Solidifying agents of at least 3 or more identical ser. number. To make at least 2 identical Genosian Sword Cores as 2 are needed. Any weapon smith that has been around any kind of time will have the other resources. Personally I tell people If they bring me a schematic, cube and Solidifying agent I will make them 1 scythe for free. My payment is the other use of the schematic for myself to sell.

I am playing on Eclipse and getting yellow Powercubes for the Scythe is so damned near impossible.
Yellow Powercubes are sold for about 50K a piece, leaving not much room for anything but to put the price at about 200K, as u have to calculate crit. failures and limited use of shematic. If a customer only orders and does not himself bring the shematic, cores or cubes, the price is bound to raise.
If the customer delivers all the essential ingredients, making the scythe would cost me a smile, as it leaves me with the possibility to make one more and sell it for the 150-200K.

do the sowrd cores have to come from a factory crate then? - I now about the sword core schematic (got a reinforcement core scem last night - just my luck!) - and I know that if I supply it to a W/S. the cores made will be better than the lotted 'pre=made' ones from genos.
However, Ive got 6 IDENTICAL nice sword cores from genos (-0.7speed etc,etc), they all have the same serial, just ine has a yellow name (for some reason) - to avoid the grind trying to find the power cubes/ etc individually, would a W/S be able to use these 'pre-made' cores in place of making the cores themselves?
and thanks for the advice about price - trouble is, I dont want the W/S to 'keep' of the uses of the scythe schem themselves - thats why I though of getting all the resources myself and affering the tenloss DXR6 schem as payment - thet way - the W/S gets a nice schem and doesnt use his/ her resources - I get one more scythe that I can use for my troubles...

as long as the seriel numbers are identical the cores can be used... and with six identical cores the ws can make you two scythes and still have one use on the schem
