1) do you have a greater chance of getting higher experimentation value outcome when you use, for example, 12 pts of experimentation all at once rather than 6 pts consecutively (assuming all are amazing successes).



2) also, does the experimentation outcome coincide with the values on the weapon?


I made two adv. blaster rifle barrel schems,


one was 51% / 99% / 29% and its values were


min 18

max 44

spd -.59

wnd 5

attack cost -9


the other was 53% / 99% / 29% and came out to the exact same stats. Then I made an Adv. blaster pistol barrel experimented to 51% / 99% / 29% and stats came to



min 19

max 44

spd -.59

wnd 5

attack cost -9

1) Dunno, wouldn't think so



2) There are hidden decimals in there that I have never been able to predict...ghosts in the machine.

in reference to your first question...i personally use one experimentation point at a time because even though youll come out with the same result if u use one at time or 12 at a time. You'll notice you have a risk chance of failing when using 12 at a time. If you use 1 at a time or 2 at a time you have a 0% risk of failing (u still can fail, but just on a less often frequency). If you do fail using ALL 12 points you have no chance at making an attempt to salvage the fail and turn the weapon into at least something decent.

I know there is a greater chance of failing but what i want to know is if there is a greater chance of getting a higher experimentation value.

if anything, ive noticed using all my points in one shot yields a slightly inferior product if i used them 1 or 2 at a time

I'm one of the 4-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2 guys...seems to give me the best results, but that may be hogwash.


On a related note, the number of experiments you runaffects factory time...not really an issue unless you're making MASS quantities of stuff...like back in ght e good old grenade days

didnt know the number of experiments u ran increased factory output time...thanks for the note....it prolly wont change the way i experiment though lol....but ill keep it in mind when i decide to start factory running again...thanx =)

Well, whenI try to double cap pistols I do 8 points at once (with bespin) in dam and then 4 points in sac (with bespin). As I need only amazings on those and theres a greater chance of getting amazings on 2 tries than on 12 tries, but that is just me of course. I guess every WS has their own way of experimenting


What I can say is though that using all points at once will give you an awesome result if you get an amazing, but a ver moderate result if you get a great success or below.

That's how I do it but I do 5 on SAC cause an amazing with my resources = 65SAC pistol with -8 SAC ehancers.

That's how I do it, as well (8/4). But I wouldn't recommend it to anyone not FS, as the risk of a moderate would be high.
